Cape Town Blitz
Farhaan Behardien’s side has been in top form this season. They have dominated from the start of the tournament and have rightly earned their place in the finals. The only worrying factor for the side would be the two losses they had in their last three league games. Having earned their place in the finals the side may have been complacent in the last league games. But Behardien would hope the team puts behind all the fatigue and complacency for this big final and plays dominatingly in front of their home crowd. After having played so well in the tournament they don’t deserve to lose at their home ground.
Quinton de Kock has been in great form throughout the season and so has Janneman and they would be looking forward to giving the team a good start in the season. The middle order is also pretty strong with Dawid Malan, Behardien and Asif Ali. Andile Phehlukwayo has also done well lower down the order and this would add strength to their batting. Switching over to their bowling Dale Steyn would trouble the opponents with the new ball in company of Nandre Burger. Mohammad Nawaz, Phehlukwayo, Ferisco Adams and Malusi Siboto make the bowling attack look pretty strong in this all important final game.
Dane Vilas and his side would have liked to make it to the finals with a win in the Eliminator game against Paarl Rocks but that wasn’t to be. The weather gods weren’t kind and the match was washed out. The side qualified for the finals by the virtue of having more points than Rocks. With all the past performances put behind Vilas would like his team to stand up for one final occasion and play like they have played throughout the tournament. The opposition is a tough side to beat and the Stars will have to play their A game to win the title.
Jozi Stars have a wonderful opening combination in Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks with both batsmen having been in good form this season. Rassie van der Dussen has looked good at No. 3 and the middle order has the likes of Petrus van Biljon and Daniel Christian. With Kagiso Rabada hitting the ball well they bat deep. In terms of their bowling line-up Duanne Olivier has been in great rhythm and with Rabada the duo would surely trouble the batsmen. Beuran Hendricks and Daniel Christian add variety to the bowling attack and they would look forward to troubling the Blitz batsmen.
Our Prediction for Cape Town Blitz vs Jozi Stars
Cape Town Blitz will win the match
The inaugural season of Mzansi Super League has been a huge success where we have witnessed entertaining T20 cricket from all the sides. After 31 games we are a game away from seeing the title winners for this season. Cape Town Blitz and Jozi Stars have both played well to earn their place in the finals. In the league stages both the teams won six out of their ten games and won a game each when they clashed earlier in the tournament. In terms of team composition both the sides have great players on their sides and if their past performance is anything to go by it would be a great contest in the Grand Finale
There is little to choose between the two sides in terms of skills and form but Cape Town Blitz would have the crowds behind them in their home ground and start as favourites to win the title.
