Our Prediction Barbados Tridents vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:

Barbados Tridents will win this match

There is nothing more exciting that seeing two equally matched sides taking on each other in T20 contest. Caribbean Premier League 2018 has already had some nail biting finishes and if the lead up to this game is any indication the two sides would offer something for the crowds at Kensington Oval to cheer about. The home side led by Jason Holder come into the contest with two wins out of three games while the visitors who have Chris Gayle in their side would have four points from their two wins in four games so far. Both the sides have displayed their strengths and weaknesses so far and it promises to be a great 40 overs of contest at Barbados.

Barbados Tridents

Prediction Barbados Tridents vs St Kitts and Nevis PatriotsThe Jason Holder led home side has shown some indifferent form in the last two editions of CPL and they are looking in good shape so far to make the amends. They started with a bang in the first game against Guyana Amazon Warriors and won it by 30 runs. The next one against St Lucia Stars was kind of an aberration as they came up against individual brilliance of Kieron Pollard who was on song in the game. The last game against Jamaica Tallawahs would have given the side lot of confidence as they managed to defend a lot total and their bowlers made an easy run chase difficult for the opponents.

Talking about the form of the side Jason Holder would be very proud of the way his boys have played so far. Shai Hope and Steven Smith are doing well at the top though Martin Guptill’s poor run is creating problems for the side but he is due for a good score. Wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran along with Dwayne Smith has also impressed but Hashim Amla is yet to respond to captain’s faith at the top of the order. What would make the captain happy though is the performance of his bowlers. Raymon Reifer has looked good so far barring the last game. Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Irfan are looking in good form and so far they have looked the best bowling side this season and would hope to carry on this form into the next game.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

When you have Chris Gayle you would always count your chance to be on the winning side. But Patriots have often been too dependent on their skipper to see them through which has led to their downfall twice. Last year’s runner-up is yet to play at their best. They lost two games comprehensively against Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs by 6 wickets and 47 runs respectively. In complete contrast their two wins have come in convincing fashion. They outsmarted the Trinbago Knight Riders by 42 runs and then won against St. Lucia Stars by 7 wickets to earn their 4 points so far.

The batting for Gayle’s side looks bit edgy. Evin Lewis has had a horrible season so far scoring only 14 runs in 4 games opening the innings. Tom Cooper too is not in the best of his form. Wicket keeper Devon Thomas is the only person in the top order other than Gayle who seems to be in right frame of mind. While Carlos Brathwaite has looked good in the finishing act they are leaving too much for the bottom order to do. In the bowling department Sandeep Lamichhane is having quite a dream run while Brathwaite has fared well so far. Mahmudullah also justified his selection in the only game he has played so far and the trio would have to contain the big hitting Barbados side.

Barbados Tridents have looked a much better side in the games they have played so far and given Patriots’ weakness in the top order they are favourites to emerge victorious in this game.
