West Indies

Mashrafe Mortaza was visibly upset at the end of the 2nd ODI. They had done well to defend a small total on a batting friendly wicket. But a remarkable batting performance from Shai Hope took the game away from them. There may have been a bit of complacency on part of his side as they didn’t expect the West Indian lower order to put up the fight like they did in the end. With the Bangladesh vs West Indies series still open Mortaza would have to encourage his men to go for the kill in the final game of the series and not repeat the mistakes they did in the previous one.

Tamim Iqbal’s return to form is good news for the side especially after an injury that kept him out for the last few weeks. Liton Das has also shown good form in the recent games but Imrul Kayes seems to be going through a rough patch. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are in good nick and making their experience count. With good support from likes of Mahmudullah and Soumya Sarkar they have the required batting strength to do well. Bowling wise they have done well in the recent games and Mustafizur Rahman would like to forget the nightmare of the last game. Skipper Mortaza is in great rhythm but Rubel Hossain needs to support the fast bowling duo which he has failed to do. In the spin department Mehidy Hasan and Shakib will need to contain the hard hitting West Indian batting line-up and create pressure for the side to do well in the next game.

West Indies

Rovman Powell would have cherished the win, their first in the tour. The hundred by Shai Hope who stayed till the end is one that West Indian fans would remember for a very long time. But there are problems that remain especially in the opening partnership where the side has made a habit of losing an early wicket and putting pressure on the scoring rate. In a long tour of the sub-continent West Indies are eyeing a series victory for the very first time and Powell would want his men to hold on to their momentum from the last game and win the series 2-1.

Batting woes at the top remain for the West Indies. Chandrapaul Hemraj failed to impress on his comeback but Shai Hope who has been in good form off late played the innings of his life in the last game. The side would bank on him to carry on with the same form in the upcoming game. Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels who got starts in the last game need to convert them into big scores while Shimron Hetmyer needs to put a price on his wicket. West Indian bowlers did well in the last game with both Oshane Thomas and Kemar Roach having troubled the oppisition. Devendra Bishoo was the pick of the bowlers with his miserly spell. With good support from Keemo Paul the side can expect to cause trouble for the Bangladeshi batting line-up.

Our Prediction for Bangladesh vs West Indies 3rd ODI Match

Bangladesh would win the 3rd ODI

What a comeback it was from the West Indies in the 2nd ODI of the series. At one point during the chase it all seemed that they would throw away the game but a sensational knock from Shai Hope sealed the game for them. Having levelled the series 1-1 the visitors have laid the platform for a thrilling 3rd ODI at Sylhet. The Bangladeshis would be terribly upset having had the game in their pocket till the final three over of the West Indian chase. They would like to put the disappointment behind and start afresh in the next ODI which promises to be an exciting encounter with an upbeat West Indian side.

Bangladesh have shown fine form throughout the series and given their familiarity with the conditions they would be frontrunner in the upcoming game.
