Australia vs India 2nd T20I Odds by Bet365 & Betway

For Australian skipper Aaron Finch it was a much needed breather in this format of the game after having lost against six games on a row against major sides. What would have impressed the skipper most was that it was a complete team performance rather than a show of individual brilliance that saw them go past the finishing line. While there are few concerns at the top of the order Finch would expect the win to serve as a booster for his men who have encountered more losses than wins in the recent months. With a AUS vs IN series win on the cards at the MCG he wouldn’t like to leave any room for error and wish to take an unassailable lead.

Among the major concerns for the side is the form of openers D Arcy Short and Aaron Finch. The former is struggling to keep the score board ticking. Chris Lynn looked in great touch in the previous game and so did the hard hitting pair of Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell. The due stole the initiative from the hands of the Indians in the last game. With Alex Carey and Ben McDermott in the lower order the side can put up a big score on the board. In the bowling department Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye were all over the place and Billy Stanlake too struggled. It was the performance of Adam Zampa and Stoinis that helped the side win it. The pacers would need to do well in the next game for the side to win it.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli would have surely been disappointed losing the game which till the very last over could have gone their way. But he would surely be happy with the kind of performance his side put up in the game. It was great to see the Indian batsmen fight till the even after their star batsmen were back in the dugout. The major concern for Kohli would be the performance of the two young bowlers who were unable to handle the pressure. Given that the side is staring at a series loss at MCG Kohli would have to inspire his men to take up the challenge and make it 1-1 before the last game.

Shikhar Dhawan looked in sublime touch in the last game and for Rohit Sharma it was a rare failure at the top. KL Rahul will need to convert his starts as he has already got the long rope. Kohli’s failure in the middle rocked the Indian chase and he would like to make amends. It was heartening to see two wicketkeepers Rishab Pant and Dinesh Karthik take the fight to the Australian camp and nearly seal the game. In the bowling department Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar bowled well while the youngster Khaleel Ahmed will have to learn to absorb pressure in front of large crowds. Kuldeep Yadav’s spell was good but Krunal Pandya will need to improve upon his performance to merit selection in the next game.

Our Prediction for Australia vs India 2nd T20I

India will win the 2nd T20 game

What a thrilling encounter it was in the 1st game at The Gabba where Australia won the high scoring rain curtailed game by 4 runs to end their losing streak of 4 games. There was a seesaw battle till the very last over with both the sides putting up incredible performances. It was a great to see the Indian team press for a win till the very end after their bowling had let them down during Australia’s innings. The action now moves to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground where Australia would like to seal the series and Indian team would want to make a strong comeback. It is expected to be a close encounter like we have seen in the 1st game.

Though the Indian team lost they have a stronger T20 unit compared to the Australians. With seasoned campaigners in the side the Indians would start as favourites in the 2nd game of the 3-Match series and would do everything to stay alive in it.
