And then there were four.

Wimbledon in 2019 has been full of thrills, spills, and a teenage sensation who is sadly no longer in the competition.

However, don’t let that disappoint you as SW19 is just starting to heat up with four ladies gunning for glory, and all four in with a realistic shot of the title.

So, who’s facing who in the semis and who is our top tip to go all the way?

Predictions

Serena Williams v Barbora Strýcová

33-year-old Barbora Strýcová caused the disappointment of Wimbledon for British fans after dumping Johanna Konta in straight sets in what proved to be a fairly tepid quarter-final clash.

Not that Strýcová will care after making it into her first ever Grand Slam semi-final.

It may be safe to say Strýcová is something of a journey woman in ladies’ tennis but has still managed to claim two WTA titles and three Grand Slam girls doubles titles in the early 2000s.

However, seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams will be the big favourite with online betting sites but there are weaknesses in her game having twice been taken to three sets and facing at least one more energy sapping mixed doubles tie with Andy Murray.

But not enough for Strýcová to topple Williams, especially as the Czech native has never beaten Serena in three prior meetings.

Backing Williams is the only way to go in this one and in straight sets too as the occasion is just too much for Strýcová

Williams to win in straight sets at 20/31 with 10bet.

Elina Svitolina v Simona Halep

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina is appearing in her first Grand Slam semi-final but the expectation is this is only the start for the 24-year-old.

With 13 WTA Tour titles to her name so far, Svitolina has gone somewhat under the radar but cannot be underestimated as she prepares to face Grand Slam winner Simona Halep.

This also the 27-year-old’s second visit to the last four of Wimbledon and will be confident after breezing past Zhang Shuai in the last eight and ending the run of talented American teenager Cori Gauff.

However, one thing to note is that Svitolina has the better of the Halep in the head to heads having won four of the pairs six meetings.

The two have never met on grass though, and Halep did get the better of Svitolina in Doha earlier this year so the expectation is for much of same at Wimbledon with Halep using her vast Grand slam experience to overcome Svitolina in an epic three-setter.

Simona Halep to win in three sets at 3/1 with Unibet

Predicted final: Serena Williams v Simona Halep

If this turns out to be the final then it will likely be Serena Williams who will be slight favourite with popular sportsbooks to lift her second Grand Slam title currently priced at 23/20 with 888sport.

However, if she faces Simona Halep it promises to be a blockbuster encounter between two supremely talented ladies.

Unsurprisingly, Williams is way out in the head to heads with nine wins to Halep’s one but we are going against the grain and backing Halep for the win at 29/20 with 10bet as Williams gruelling schedule and longer court time will start to show through.
