Salzburg vs Leipzig: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Two form teams meet in Salzburg with the home side knowing that just a draw will see them progress to the knock out rounds.
Salzburg have won every group game so far – and scored a lot of goals in the process. The Austrian side made it all the way to the semi finals last season before getting knocked out by Marseille and are looking like they mean business this time round.
Leipzig play bottom placed Rosenborg in their last group game but will know that they need to keep the pressure on both Salzburg and Celtic by getting some kind of result here. A defeat would not be the end of the road for the German side but it will make things trickier going into that final match.
Salzburg have really been the side for the neutrals to watch this season with so many goals in all four of their matches. But head coach Marco Rose will be slightly alarmed at the amount of goals they are letting in – they will not have as many chances to score the further they go in the tournament.
Leipzig are enjoying a very good season domestically as well as in the Europa League. They have only lost one game in the Bundesliga – away at top of the table Dortmund on the opening day of the season. But Salzburg at home will be fancied for the win and with goals almost guaranteed this could end 3-1 to the hosts.
- Salzburg to win
It seems slightly surprising that a home side attract such good odds for the win – the Austrian side are unbeaten all season in all competitions and another victory is definitely possible.
- Total goals over 3.5
If previous group games are anything to go by then we should see goals in this one. Both sides like to attack so the goalkeepers are bound to be busy.

- Salzburg have been very busy scoring goals in the Europa League this season, only Sevilla have found the net more often.
- Leipzig have only failed to score away from home on two occasions this season – once against Freiburg in the Bundesliga and once against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League play off round.
- Munas Dabbur is the top goal scorer in the Europa League so far. The Israel striker has scored five and also leads the way with nine attempts on goal.
