Roma welcome champions Juventus to the Stadio Olimpico for this round 36 Serie A fixture.

Roma were lucky to escape with a point in their game away to Genoa on Sunday, as keeper Antonio Mirante saved a spot-kick in the 6th minute of injury time. That 1-1 stalemate extended a run of six games without a defeat for the Giallorossi.

Juventus needed talisman Cristiano Ronaldo to pop up to score and rescue a point for them in their 1-1 draw in the Derby della Mole with Torino on Friday night. The champions have looked a little disinterested since they lifted their eight Scudetto in a row a few weeks ago.

Roma are currently in fifth place in the Serie A table and qualifying for next season’s Champions League is vitally important for them to balance the books with Financial Fair Play breathing down their necks.

Juventus have nothing left to play for this season, after being knocked out by Ajax in the Champions League quarter-finals, while going out of the Coppa Italia at the same stage when losing 3-0 to Atalanta. A 1-1 draw is well worth a shout.

Betting Tips

The draw is available at 5/2

This fixtured ended goalless last season at the Stadio Olimpico and Roma are unbeaten in their last four home games with Juventus. Unibet have the draw at 5/2.

Total goals under 2.5

Both sides are struggling in front of goal at this point in the season, while Roma are desperate for points, Juve don’t like losing and that could be why the bookies are offering odds of 21/20 for the under 2.5 goals scored market.

Head to Head

In the last 55 games played between these sides in all competitions, it is Juventus that come out on top historically with 26 wins compared to Roma’s 13, while there have been 16 draws.

  • Roma have won their last two home games while keeping clean sheets in both ties. The Giallorossi have lost just twice at home this season, a 2-0 loss to SPAL in October and a 4-1 defeat to Napoli at the end of March.
  • Juventus have failed to win any of their last three matches between cup and league competition and they have won just one of their last five games on the road.
  • Roma will be hoping they can get back into the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League – even if they win all three of their remining games they could still miss out of Atalanta do the same.
  • Juventus lifted their eight straight Scudetto when they beat Fiorentina 2-1 on the 20th of April and their season could be considered disappointing as they were knocked out of the cup competitions at too early a stage for their high standards.
