France are strong favourites to progress through Group C, with Peru and Denmark eyeing a surprise last 16 appearance alongside them.
Both sides will be aware that a strong start to the group is vital and this could be one of the most intriguing opening group games.
Denmark qualified via a 5-1 playoff victory over the Republic of Ireland for their first World Cup finals appearance in eight years and will be hoping for their third last 16 appearance.
Peru are through to their sixth World Cup but their first in 36 years, with many of their squad still based in South America.
Under the current management of Ricardo Gareca, Peru came third at the 2015 Copa America and reached the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario.
The two sides have never previously played each other.
Both these sides squeezed into the tournament, with Peru edging out Chile into fifth place on goal difference in South America and beating New Zealand in a playoff while Denmark also required a playoff victory.
Denmark are favourites to triumph on this occasion – perhaps due to their greater pedigree and tournament experience – with the Scandinavian side priced at 21/20 with William Hill to win.
Denmark netted five goals in Dublin to secure their place in the tournament, but that one match aside, there have only been three goals combined across their most recent five games.
Peru meanwhile have not conceded more than once in any of their most recent 11 fixtures, with fewer than 1.5 goals at a tempting 7/4 with William Hill.

- Christian Eriksen has scored of Denmark’s last eight goals, with a total of 21 international goals to his name
