Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United: Predictions, Betting Tips and Odds
Forest welcome league leaders Leeds to the City Ground as they look to climb the table in search of a play off spot.
Forest have drawn around half of their games in the Championship this season and it is these dropped points that have left Aitor Karanka’s side in mid table rather than pushing for the automatic promotion spots. Leeds have looked in devastating form for much of the season however, so a point for the home side would probably be regarded as a good result.
Leeds ended 2018 on top of the Championship and looking very likely to be going up to the Premier League for the first time since 2004. Head coach Marco Bielsa has his squad playing some wonderful football and not many in the Championship have been able to handle this Leeds side. Forest will be in for a tough time here.
Forest have been involved in some real crackers this season – drawing 5-5 at Villa Park earlier in the season and, more recently, seeing a 3-0 lead away at high-flying Norwich crumble in injury time leaving them with just a point from the game. If Forest are to have chance of going up this season they will have to make those kind of performances pay.
Leeds are on a great run of form and are experiencing a few late comebacks of their own. Victories over Aston Villa and Blackburn were both achieved in injury time and although that is exciting for the fans, Marco Bielsa would probably rather have the matches sewn up much earlier. They should be good for another win in this one and could register a 3-1 victory.

- Total goals over 3.5
Both these sides have played with a very open style this season which suggests that fans may well be in for a treat.

Head to Head
This fixture has been fairly even throughout the years and the two sides shared a draw at Elland Road earlier in the season. Leeds were victorious at the City Ground last season however.
- Leeds United’s fearless attacking style has seen only West Brom and Norwich score more goals than them this season. Their defence has been tighter than both of their competitors however.
- Nottingham Forest have drawn more games than anyone else in the Championship this season – and even just three of those games ending in a victory for the Reds would have seen them firmly in the play off spots.
- Marco Bielsa’s managerial style is applauded around the world but his various teams have not actually won a trophy since he left his native Argentina in 1998.
- Forest have lost their last two home games by the same 1-0 scoreline. But in the meantime they have been involved in matches away from home that have finished 5-5 and 3-3.
