The match is over.
The City juggernaut look set to keep on rolling although in Teemu Pukki, at least Norwich have one ace up their sleeve which will always give them some hope.
Anything other than constantly backing Manchester City to steamroll every team they meet would offer little value with popular sportsbooks but there is plenty of reasons why the Canaries have it in them to last at least until the break with scores deadlocked. For example, Manchester City’s last two Premier League visits to Carrow Road have been a draw not just at the break, but at the full-time whistle too. Norwich have also managed to be in a winning or in a drawing position in half of their league games this season making a draw at halftime.
DRAW AT HALF TIME
This bet offers better odds than we thought we would get especially as City have been so dominant since Norwich were relegated in 2016. However, it seems a couple of goalless draws between the two at Carrow Road has risen expectation among the Canary faithful and left some sportsbooks a little on edge. They shouldn’t be though as Norwich have conceded in every match they have played this season including to League Two side Crawley Town in the League Cup.
MANCHESTER CITY TO WIN TO NIL
No, we are not doing Manchester City a disservice here but rather following the stats. The Citizens have scored under 3.5 goals in 16 of their last 20 Premier League matches – still pretty good – and more importantly have not scored a single league goal at Carrow Road in over 180 minutes of Premier League football. Online sports books make City big favourites for the win, but it may not be by the margin many would expect with Norwich able to keep the score down as City score under 3.5 goals in the game.
MANCHESTER CITY TO SCORE UNDER 3.5 GOALS
Head to Head
Norwich showed some steel the last time the pair met during the 2015/16 Premier League season. The Canaries may have ended up relegated, but they did pick up a 0-0 at Carrow Road to help their cause. They did however, lose at the Etihad but only 2-1 – no shame in that. Overall, Norwich City have won just nine times against the Citizens whilst City have recorded 36 victories with a total of 36 draws.
Manchester City to win and score in the second half
How can we realistically predict anything other than a routine win for City with Ederson happy with yet another clean sheet. The Canaries record may be good against City in recent years but expect that to end with a bang as Daniel Farke continues to find the Premier League is a difficult beast to tame.
