NetBet Sport Review

3.0

NetBet has been plying its trade to online sports fans since 2001. Supported by technology from SBTech, it offers Irish punters a broad range of sports and events with competitive odds.

Its user-friendly platform provides a seamless flow from one feature to another. On the face of it, NetBet has a lot to offer, with a focus on you, the player.

Punters have mixed reviews regarding this operator, which makes our balanced analysis of NetBet even more important. So let’s find out if it’s worth a try.

NetBet Strengths and Weaknesses

Focusing on the positives doesn’t always paint an accurate picture. We’ve outlined what we feel are NetBet’s strengths and weaknesses below to enable you to make an informed choice.

✔️ NetBet strengths

  • Functionality & Design – The site layout is typical across most sports betting sites. However, we were impressed with the easy access to information and how simple it is to navigate. The menus are clear and include links to all the bookie’s key features, contributing to the site’s user-friendliness.
  • Betting Options – NetBet has all the markets you’d expect from a competitive bookmaker in Ireland. It goes one step further with some unique betting options for a more immersive experience. Features like Add2Bet, SnapBet and Bet Maker allow you to make your wagering more personal.
  • Sports Lineup – NetBet has one of the most comprehensive sports lineups that we’ve seen. Sports range from the ever-popular horse racing and Gaelic football to bandy and floorball. Virtual sports and esports are also featured.

❌ NetBet weaknesses

  • Payout Time – NetBet’s payout time is slower than the average, although not entirely off the charts. Some banking methods, like e-wallets, result in a quicker payout than others, but you could find yourself waiting up to eight days for wire transfer withdrawals.
  • Withdrawal Fees – It’s rare to find a bookie charging a fee for withdrawals, but NetBet does. Granted, it doesn’t charge for all transactions, but if you’re withdrawing more than €500 from your betting account, be prepared to pay 1.5% in fees.
  • Customer Service – NetBet has limited customer service options. You can send your query via email or use the live chat facility, and we eventually found a telephone number hidden in the terms and conditions. Live chat only operates between 9:00 and 23:00 GMT, and the phone between 12:00 – 20:00. We’d prefer to see a 24/7 live chat, which is more in line with what other betting sites offer.

Although the weaknesses at NetBet may seem significant, they don’t detract from its many strengths and can easily be improved.

NetBet Honest Review

NetBet doesn’t go out of its way to attract players with its welcome bonus. Although new punters do benefit, €30 in free bets and free spins definitely lacks the wow factor.

Registering follows a standard process. Complete the sign-up form and you can get started with your first deposit straight away.

We were very impressed with the range of sports available and found all our favourites in the lineup. Plus, while NetBet offers the standard betting markets, it also includes options that most other betting sites don’t provide. Features like Add2Bet and SnapBet enable you to personalise your wager according to a game’s progression. Bet Maker allows you to bet on several markets in the same event.

Depositing is quick, and funds reflect in your betting account almost instantly. Withdrawing is usually more tedious, and this holds true at NetBet. While we didn’t struggle, we understand from other reviews that some punters have experienced lengthy delays.

An area where we feel NetBet can improve is its customer support. At the very least, live chat should operate 24/7 to provide a more consistent communication channel for players. A telephone number is listed in the terms and conditions yet not under Contact Us. If NetBet is genuine about this as a means of assistance, it should place the number in a more logical location.

The NetBet betting apps for iOS and Android mirror the main site in functionality. We found the betting app extremely user-friendly with a sleek design and smooth navigation.

NetBet Scores

Bonuses and Offers ⭐⭐

The welcome offer of €30 in free bets and spins (€15 allocated to each) is mediocre compared to other betting sites. There are also few additional bonuses available.

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐

NetBet has plenty of betting markets on most events. It also offers unique wagering features allowing you to make fast in-play bets, edit your existing stake, or personalise a bet with more selections.

Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐

NetBet supports sufficient banking options to appease most punters. You can choose between card payments, e-wallets, and Paysafecard. Alternatively, a bank wire option is also available for old-school players.

Mobile experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐

App downloads are available for Android and iOS devices, offering a seamless experience.

Payout speed ⭐⭐

Payout speed is slightly slower than average, although this also depends on your payment method. Bank wires take up to eight days, while e-wallets are quicker but can still take up to 48 hours.

Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐

NetBet has all the standard security measures in place, along with valid licenses issued by regulating authorities.

Software and games ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The betting platform is supported by SBTech, a leader in sports betting technology.

Betting experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was easy placing both a single wager and using the Bet Maker option. We like the game animation on the live betting facility and found the team stats helpful in selecting our bet.

Customer support ⭐⭐

The lack of a 24/7 live chat facility will put some punters off NetBet, but customer support was helpful, informative and pleasant to deal with.

NetBet Welcome Package 🎁

Welcome packages vary between bookmakers, but we found NetBet’s offer one of the least enticing.

NetBet welcome bonus

€30 in free bets and free spins.

When you register at NetBet and place a €30 single/combo bet, you receive €15 in free bets, 50 free spins in the casino and 25 free spins in Vegas. NetBet credits these to your account on settlement of your first qualifying wager.

How to claim NetBet welcome bonus

  • Click the claim button to register your NetBet account
  • Deposit at least €30 and place a qualifying bet of €30
  • You receive your free bets and spins within 24 hours of settling your wager

NetBet welcome bonus terms and conditions

Ensure that you’re aware of the bonus terms and conditions before committing to it.

  • Place your first combo or single bet of €30 within seven days of registering
  • NetBet issues your bonus as three €5 free bets within 24 hours of settling your qualifying bet
  • Free bets are valid for three days
  • Free spins are on selected slots and split between the casino (50) and Vegas (25)
  • You have 30 days to use your free spins
  • You must wager winnings from the casino spins 40x and the Vegas spins 50x
  • Some deposit methods don’t qualify for the welcome offer (Neteller, Paypal and Skrill)

NetBet Best Sports Features

Before using any of the sports features at NetBet, it’s helpful to understand what they are and how they work.

NetBet cash-out

NetBet’s cash-out facility allows you to settle your bet before the event has ended. It’s useful in situations where you may be up on your wager but concerned it may not go your way in the end.

Cashing out allows you to take what your bet is worth at the time and close the wager. In our experience, it’s a valuable tool to secure some profit rather than losing your entire stake.

NetBet Bet Maker

Bet Maker allows you to add multiple selections from the same event to your accumulator. Simply toggle the Create Your Bet button to the “on” position, and NetBet lists other markets in the same event that you can select from.

This kind of bet is more difficult to profit from. Sometimes the odds aren’t as competitive as placing single bets on multiple events.

NetBet Add2Bet

With Add2Bet, you can include additional markets on an open bet rather than placing a new bet. However, it’s not as straightforward as the name suggests.

You can only add to open bets where the cash-out feature is available. NetBet cashes out your previous open bet and uses that value for your modified wager.

This seemingly simple feature is quite limiting, with restrictions on which bets you can use it for. It’s best to read the terms and conditions before trying Add2Bet out.

NetBet SnapBet

If you enjoy live betting, then this feature might interest you. With SnapBet, you can wager on a goal being scored in a game in a specified period, whether the next one, five, or ten minutes.

We love the immediacy of this feature and the excitement that it adds to a game. However, it’s only available on mobile devices, so make sure you have a decent internet connection, or you’ll miss your chance.

NetBet Sports Coverage

We were ecstatic to have so many sports, leagues and events to choose from. We expected to find sports like football, rugby union, golf, and horse racing, but NetBet surpasses many other operators with its 35+ sports. Some of the most popular sports include:

  • NetBet horse racing. NetBet covers a range of horse racing events held within Ireland and internationally. These include the Irish Champion Stakes, Epsom Derby and Breeder’s Cup events in the United States.
  • NetBet Gaelic football. Gaelic football is one of the most popular sports in Ireland and is enjoyed by the Irish worldwide. Most games are played in Ireland, although the sport has spread to North America, Australia and Asia.
  • NetBet football. Football is the largest category at NetBet. It covers leagues worldwide with markets available throughout the year.
  • NetBet rugby union. Bet on some of the top leagues like the France Pro 14 and the European Champions Cup, and on futures for the Six Nations and the Rugby World Cup.
  • NetBet esports. Esports is a growing industry not yet listed by all bookies. Leagues in games like Dota 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike take place throughout the year, and NetBet covers all the main tournaments.

NetBet sponsorship deals 🏆

NetBet continues to sponsor Rio de Janeiro’s Vasco da Gama football teams. This partnership began in 2019 and has proven successful for both brands.

Brazil’s Red Bull Bragantino football club also benefits from a NetBet sponsorship deal that began in 2020. It plays in Serie A, the top Brazilian football league.

NetBet Betting Markets and Types of Bets Available

While there’s a substantial range of sports to wager on, NetBet also has tremendous depth in its betting markets.

NetBet Betting Markets

  • 1×2 Full Time – This is a bet on the result at the end of the game being a home win, a draw or an away win.
  • Both Teams to Score – A bet on both teams scoring during the game.
  • Total Goals Over/Under – A bet on how many goals teams will score in the match.
  • Double Chance – You select two of the three possible game results, such as a draw and an away win.
  • Correct Score – Predict the final score.
  • Moneyline – A bet on which team will win the match.
  • Draw No Bet – Predict the match winner. If the result is a draw, all bets are void.
  • Win Bet – You bet on the horse you think will win the race.
  • Each Way – This horse racing bet is a wager on a horse to win and to place.
  • Tricast – You bet on the horses to finish first, second and third.
  •  Place Only – A wager on a horse to place in the first two or three.
  • Winner Full Time – A bet on a player or team to win the match.

NetBet types of bets available

  • Parlays – A bet with multiple selections on different events.
  • Prop Bets – Small bets on specific occurrences during a match that don’t affect the outcome.
  • In-Play Betting – Wagering on live games as they happen.

NetBet Mobile App

NetBet’s keeping up with growing mobile trends with an app for Android and iOS devices. Depending on your operating system, you can download this from either Google Play or the App Store, but first, ensure you have sufficient device space.

Although there are subtle layout differences, for the most part, the app mirrors the desktop site. It has the same efficient functionality, and you can access all the same features by clicking on the icons and menus.

To add a wager to your bet slip, simply click on the sport and event, select your market and enter the wager amount. Your bet appears on your betting slip for confirmation. It’s a seamless process from start to finish.

NetBet Sports Bonuses and Promotions

Once you’ve played through your welcome bonus, NetBet has other promotions for you to take advantage of.

Bet €10 on virtuals and get a free €5 bet every day

Place a single €10 wager on any virtual sport and receive a €5 free bet for virtuals. You can participate in this promotion daily, but only your first €10 bet on virtuals each day qualifies.

Acca refund

Place a football Acca of up to €20 with a minimum of five selections. Each selection must be at minimum odds of 1.20. If one leg loses, you receive your stake back in free bets up to €20.

NetBet Banking Options

We take banking very seriously in our reviews. It’s vital that you can deposit funds and access your winnings easily and with as little hassle as possible.

NetBet supports a range of banking methods covering most preferences. These include Visa and Mastercard, e-wallets like PayPal and Skrill, and bank wire transfers. However, not all methods support deposits and withdrawals, and some limitations apply. For example, you can only withdraw funds to an e-wallet if you’ve funded your betting account from that e-wallet.

Deposits and withdrawals have a minimum limit of €10, which is relatively standard. There’s no maximum limit for either transaction, but NetBet levies a 1.5% fee for withdrawals over €500.

Overall we found the cashiering at NetBet on par with other bookmakers. Deposits are quick, and funds reflect pretty much immediately. When selecting your banking method, consider the payout time for withdrawals, as this may determine which one you opt for.

NetBet Customer Support

We recommend that your first port of call be the FAQ section accessed by the link on the bottom of the homepage. This section covers all the basics with a search bar to help you navigate to the topic you need.

Live chat is the most-used customer support option, but we were disappointed that it only operates from 09:00 – 23:00. Likewise, the telephone hotline only operates between 12:00 and 20:00. The contact number is hard to find as it’s hidden in the terms and conditions, leading us to believe that NetBet isn’t keen to receive many calls.

NetBet does have a message form on the site. You can send an email this way or use the email address under Customer Service in the terms and conditions.
