Man Utd vs Man City Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
The Manchester derby comes around at a pivotal moment of the season – with both clubs desperate for all three points.
These are two teams chasing points for very different reasons. Now out of the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are still in the hunt for a top four spot this season – but will need a few more victories to overtake Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. The formbook routinely goes out of the window with local derbies and United will be hoping that is the case here.
Manchester City have played some scintillating football this season and the sports betting sites still have them as slight favourites to lift the Premier League trophy next month. But they’re also out of the Champions League, and a trip to Old Trafford will never be predictable for Pep Guardiola’s men – anything can happen in what will be a passionate affair.
It is widely believed that Jose Mourinho leaving the club turned Manchester United’s season around – and the football has definitely dramatically improved for the Old Trafford faithful. But as the closing stages of the season draw nearer United have begun to wobble and a match against their crosstown rivals is probably the last thing anyone at the club wants at the moment.
The bookies have Manchester City strong favourites for the win here which will interest a lot of people given the fairly generous odds of a United victory. With the Premier League title on the line it is difficult to see City dropping too many points though and a 2-1 away win could be on the cards.
Manchester City to win and both teams to score
Manchester United have not been given too much hope of winning this game but they could easily score at home.
Manchester United to win
It is very rare that United have such long odds to win at Old Trafford. Obviously City are an excellent side.

Head to Head
The honours have been fairly even between these two in recent times – but City managed to win 3-1 at the Etihad earlier in the season.
- Sergio Aguero is still top of the goal scorer’s race with 19 – but teammate Raheem Sterling is not that far behind the Argentina international with 17.
- Jose Mourinho may not have cared much for the World Cup winning midfielder, but Paul Pogba is his club’s top goal scorer this season – and has the most assists.
- Manchester City may have scored many more goals than anyone else in the Premier League but their defence is one of the best as well. Only Alisson at Liverpool has more clean sheets than Ederson.
- Manchester United were actually top of the table on the first day of the season. They have not returned since while City have occupied the top spot for half the season.
