Liverpool Looking to Use Arsenal Game to Build Upon Champions League Success

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side qualified for the group stage of the Champions League courtesy of a 5-3 aggregate victory over Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on Wednesday, August 23 but they carry that momentum with them into Sunday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.

The Reds looked unstoppable moving forward as Julian Nagelsmann’s side struggled to contain their movement. The Anfield crowd enjoyed an attacking display which saw the Reds net four times through Emre Can, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino as they ensured their place in the draw for the competition which begins on September 12.

Boylesports offer 11/10 on Liverpool to continue that successful run, which included a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League, when they take on Arsenal on Sunday, August 27. Jurgen Klopp’s men did the double over the Gunners last season, including a memorable 4-3 success at the Emirates 12 months ago.

The hosts must cope without wantaway star Phillipe Coutinho who has been continually linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, although former captain Jamie Carragher suggested that Sadio Mane is more important to the side than the Brazilian, who hasn’t featured in any of their games so far this year.

Arsenal come into this fixture at a low ebb following a miserable 1-0 defeat away at Stoke. Arsene Wenger’s side have had eight days to work on accuracy during training sessions after missing the target on several occasions against the Potters and they will be hoping to get back on track when they visit Merseyside. Alexandre Lacazette thought he’d slotted home his second Premier League goal of the season only to find he’d been flagged offside. He is likely to start alongside Danny Welbeck with Olivier Giroud likely to play a part from the bench once again.
