Champions Juventus welcome high-flying Atalanta to the Allianz Stadium for this penultimate Serie A fixture.

Juventus lost 2-0 to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend and that defeat made it three games without a win for them in Serie A. The Bianconeri have only won once in their last six matches in all competitions, a 2-1 win at home against Fiorentina that saw them lift their eighth league title in a row.

Atalanta beat Genoa 2-1 at the weekend. The victory keeps them in the top four and still in the hunt for qualification for next season’s Champions League. The Nerazzurri have won their last five games in a row in all competitions and are unbeaten in their last 11 matches in Serie A, winning eight and drawing three.

Juventus may have lifted their eighth consecutive scudetto, but by their standards they have had an underwhelming season, losing 3-0 to Atalanta in the Coppa Italia quarter-final, before being knocked out of the Champions League at the same stage by Ajax.

Atalanta are playing in the Coppa Italia final against Lazio midweek, after they knocked out Fiorentina in the semi-finals 5-4 over two legs. The team from Bergamo were just the second side to take points off the Old Lady this season when they drew 2-2 at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia on Boxing Day.

A 2-2 draw is well worth a shout.

Betting Tips

The draw

Juve have nothing left to play for, while Atalanta are desperate for the points in their aim to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Over 3.5 goals

These two sides are the top scoring teams in the division, with the Nerazzurri hitting the back of the net 73 times and Juve scoring 69. That could be why the best bookies are offering odds for over 3.5 goals scored.

Head to Head

In the last 43 meetings between the sides in all competitions, it is Juventus that have the better of the historical record with 31 wins compared to the lowly three that Atalanta have, while there have been nine draws.

  • Juve are unbeaten at home this season and haven’t lost at the Allianz Stadium since a 1-0 defeat to Napoli in April of last year.
  • Atalanta are unbeaten in their last five away games in Serie A and have lost just once in their last nine.
  • Juventus have nothing else to play for this season after they lifted their eighth scudetto in row last weekend against old foes Fiorentina.
  • Atalanta are looking to win the Coppa Italia this week for the first since 1963, when they beat Torino 3-1 in the final. It would be their first piece of silverware since they won the Serie B title in 2011.
