Score: 5-0.

The second leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final between Flamengo and Gremio is finely balanced after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Our Betting Tips

Gremio had to rely on an 88th minute equaliser by Pepe to cancel out a Bruno Henrique opener in their Copa Libertadores semi-final first leg match against Flamengo.  The winner of this all Brazilian semi-final will play the winner of the other all Argentinian clash between Boca Juniors and River Plate.

Flamengo are Coached by former Benfica boss Jorge Jesus and have several familiar faces in their squad like, Diego, Rafinha, Felipe Luis who all plied their trade in Europe’s top league. However, it is Inter Loanee Gabriel Barbosa nicknamed Gabigol who has scored 33 times in all competitions since joining the club in January.

Gremio have the better experience in this competition as the went all the way in 2017 and lifted their third Copa Libertadores title against Lanus of Argentina 3-1 over the two legs. The Imortal Tricolor have won six cups since Renato Portaluppi rejoined the club as head Coach.

Both these teams have some considerable attacking firepower as Gremio have Brazil International winger Everton on their books to balance the threat of Flamengo’s Gabigol and Bruno Henrique. Flamengo are unbeaten in their last four matches against Gremio, winning three and drawing once.

Our Prediction for Flamengo vs Grêmio

The match to end in a Flamengo win

Flamengo are currently sitting top of the Brazilian Serie A table eight points clear of Palmeiras in second. The team from Rio de Janeiro are hoping to get to their first Copa Libertadores final since they lifted their only trophy in 1981 against Cobreloa of Chile. Former Atletico Madrid men Diego and Felipe Luis and both ruled out through injury so too is Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta.

For Gremio, this is a great chance for them to reach their fifth final and their first since 2017 when they won their third trophy against Argentine outfit Lanus. Striker Felipe Vizeu is close to making a come back from injury.
