FC Zurich vs Napoli: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
The match is over.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli enter the Europa League as one of the favourites and for good reason, as they’ll show against FC Zurich.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli enter the Europa League knockouts as one of the favourites to win the entire competition. Considering they dropped down from Europe’s premier competition with the highest points tally to do, combined with their manager’s CV in Europe, it’s not a surprise.
Their opponents in the round of 32 are Swiss side FC Zurich, who advance from Group A in the previous round with 10 points from six games.
They amassed six points from an available nine in home games, including a 3-2 win against eventual group winners Bayer Leverkusen.
Napoli on the other hand, dropped down from the Champions League on goal difference with Liverpool with nine points. Considering their rather valiant performances, this seemed harsh on the Naples club, but between the trio of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Napoli, a big side was always going to be disappointed.
You may be expecting a one-sided route but that’s most likely not going to be the case. Zurich manager Ludovic Magnin has showcased he knows how to set up his side to get results as showcased in the group stages. Ancelotti is likely to use this tie to rest players and give minutes to those who need it as we approach the business end of the season, but should still get a 2-0 win.
- Under 2.5 goals scored
The Swiss side are a rather defensive one and there’s been 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last 10 Europa League games. Whilst Napoli are likely to rotate and take this first leg without their maximum focus, it will most likely be a close one.
- Arkadiusz Milik to score any time
It’s likely that Napoli use the early rounds of the Europa League to rest players and Arkadiusz Milik will be one of those to get certified minutes. Considering the gap in player quality, these odds are great for Milik to grab at least one.
