Chelsea vs Leicester City: Betting Tips, Odds & Predictions

Chelsea vs Leicester City
Chelsea vs Leicester City, Premier League, Stamford Bridge, London

The match is over.
Score: 1-1.

Game two of the Premier League for these two sides still sees both seeking their first three-points of the campaign. However, with a point on the board already for the Foxes, it is the home side under the early pressure.

Our Betting Tips

In the last three Premier League games only one goal has been scored between the two and that was to Leicester City. Both teams have also failed to score this campaign (although admittedly the season is only one game in) but no doubt the general feeling among the Foxes is that a goalless draw at the bridge would constitute a good result. Not so for the Blues who lost 4-0 to Manchester United last weekend and with a tricky European Super Cup trip to Turkey to contend with a high scoring affair is unlikely making under 1.5 goals in the game.

The prediction is for the game to end 0-0, however, for those looking for a little bit of safety, backing 0-0 at the break is the less risky way to go. The reason being is that the last six meetings between the two in all competitions has seen just ten goals scored in which only three have been scored in the first half and only one in the last four head to heads.

There is little value in backing the home side in this game (only risk) and although we think the outcome will be a draw, adding the away win could be a smart way to go considering the Foxes won on their last trip to their Bridge and Chelsea may still be suffering a European hangover.

Our Prediction for Chelsea vs Leicester City

The match to end 0-0

The competition has been close and fierce between these two over the last few years. Yes, online betting sites may have the Blues as odds on to win the game but a trip to Turkey midweek will do little to help them to prepare for the visit of an energetic Leicester side to the Bridge. The consensus is Chelsea will be too good at home to lose, but perhaps not quite firing enough to trouble the Foxes net themselves making it back-to-back 0-0s between the two.
