The 2019/20 Champions League season is the 65th edition of Europe’s premier club competition in which Real Madrid boast a record 13 titles. However, after game week two, the landscape has changed once more with Bayern Munich and PSG the two sides seeing their odds shorten dramatically after big wins. Manchester City remain the favourites at the top bookmakers but the gap is closing as we head to game week 3.

Club Bruges v PSG– Runaway group A leaders PSG will be wary of their Belgian opponents who were unlucky not to take all three-points against Real Madrid. However, surely only maximum points and one foot in the knockout stages will do for Thomas Tuchel’s men – Away win.

Galatasaray v Real Madrid – In any other year, Real Madrid would be heavy favourites. However, just one point in Zidane’s sides two games have left many questions with the Turkish giants spying an upset – back the draw.

Olympiacos v Bayern Munich – Six points, ten goals, performance of the tournament so far, is there any stopping Bayern Munich? If there is, it is unlikely to be Olympiacos – Back the Bayern win.

Tottenham v Red Star Belgrade – Victory is a must for Mauricio Pochettino’s men otherwise a miracle greater than last season will be required to make it through to the latter stages – back the home win (just).

Manchester City v Atalanta – Six points out of six and no goals conceded leaves City in a commanding position and well deserving of their favourites tag. Expect City to be afr to strong on home soil for the Serie A outfit – home win.

Atletico Madrid v Bayer Leverkusen – Atletico Madrid continue to quietly go about their business and an impressive win in Russia last time out did not get the credit it deserved. Expect Simone’s men to come through this one.

Juventus v Lokomotiv Moscow – Lokomotiv Moscow have proved they are no pushovers, but Juventus are back to their best with Ronaldo and co firing again. Watch out for Juve, they will go far – home win.

October 23rd

Genk v Liverpool – Liverpool have been making hard for themselves in the Champions having conceded five times in group E but surely, they can’t lose to the groups whipping boys, can they? Liverpool win.

Inter Milan v Borussia Dortmund – The stand out tie of game week three takes place in group F with Inter in desperate need of the points whilst Dortmund know a victory will all but put them in the knockout rounds – Too close to call, back the draw.

Slavia Prague v Barcelona – Barcelona have a habit of only getting stronger and showed that against Inter Milan. Messi and co will have far too much for Prague.

Our Prediction

Juventus to win the Champions League

We have changed our tune here after Maurizio Sarri’s Turin outfit thumped Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 whilst the return of Cristiano Ronaldo is major factor. A fully fit Juventus is a daunting prospect and worthy contenders. According to the odds, Juventus are underdogs but those in the know – know better. Backing Juve right now could be one of the smartest moves you make.
