Date: September 26, 2018 Time: 12:30 Venue: Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi Betting Tips Bangladesh and Pakistan have played 35 ODIs so far and Pakistan enjoy a comprehensive 31-4 win-loss record Our Prediction Bangladesh vs Pakistan , Super Four: Pakistan will win this game The last game of the Super Four in Asia Cup 2018 to be played between Bangladesh and Pakistan promises to be a virtual semi-final as the winner of this game would join India to play the final of the tournament. Both the sides have had their hits and miss on route to this game and would like to put their best foot forward as they would tope to take on Indian side in the finals of the tournament. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have had issues with the form of their key players and they would like to make amends in this do or die contest. The crowds at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi will be bracing up for a thrilling encounter with both these teams matched equally on skills and form. Bangladesh It has been a mixed bag of a tournament for Mashrafe Mortaza’s side so far. They kick-started their campaign on the right note with a comprehensive win against Sri Lanka but faltered in their next two games against Afghanistan and India where they were defeated comprehensively. However the team held its nerves in their last game against Afghanistan in the Super Four winning it narrowly by three runs in a last over thriller. The skipper would hope that his team puts up a better show in this do or die game as they take on Pakistan against whom they have won only 4 games out of the 35 they have played so far. The opening slot looks a bit shaky in Tamim Iqbal’s absence but Liton Das has finally shown some form in the last game. Nazmul Hossain Shanto is having a bad tournament so far batting in the top. Shakib Al Hasan’s form with the bat is also a worry for the side but Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Mohammad Mithun have all looked good in the last few games. But it is comeback man Imrul Kayes’ performance that would inspire great confidence in the side. In the bowling department they have a good opening bowling attack in the form of Mashrafe Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman. This is well backed up by Shakib and Mehidy Hasan. It is the fifth bowler that is giving the side some worries and if they fix this problem they would create trouble for Pakistan. Pakistan The Sarfraz Ahmed led side seems to follow the rich traditions of Pakistani cricket where they wear the ‘unpredictability’ badge with honour. They defeated Hong Kong without any fuss before surrendering to India in their league game. The passionate Afghan side made them toil it in the park but they scraped through thanks to the experience of Sohaib Malik in a last over thriller. Sarfraz would hope his side comes out of the shock defeat at the hands of India in the last game where they were not only outplayed but demoralized. He would not like to take Bangladesh lightly as they are a much improved side compared to what the Pakistani team has played against in the past. Pakistan’s batting especially their top order looks is misery especially their most important player Fakhar Zama. Imam-ul-Haq has played well against Hong Kong and Afghanistan but failed on both occasions against India. Babar Azam has looked in good touch so far in the tournament and would be expected to play the lead role. Sohaib Malik lends lot of strength to the middle order and is making his experience count so far in the series. But it is the lower middle order that is failing the side. Switching over to bowling Mohammad Amir has looked toothless in this tournament and so has Hasan Ali. They would need to bring out their special performance now. Shadab Khan is their best bowler so far and the skipper would hope Shaheen Afridi does well with the ball and he would expect contributions with the ball from Shoaib Malik. Pakistan has a better batting line-up when compared to Bangladesh and given their past record they would start as favourites to win this encounter and meet India in the finals.
