The match is over.
Both Arsenal and Spurs lost last week but North London bragging rights are on the line here so it is sure to be a passionate affair.
Local derbies are notoriously difficult to predict but this new Arsenal side look to be a vast improvement on last season. The pace of Nicolas Pepe in particular could pose the Spurs defence a whole host of problems.
ARSENAL TO WIN
Although there is a lot of attacking talent on show here it is likely to be a very tense game that suggests a close score line. There will be goals but not as many as some of the betting sites may believe.
TOTAL GOALS UNDER 2.5
Deflections don’t seem to count as own goals these days but with so much pressure on both defences not to make the mistakes that lead to a defeat to bitter local rivals there could be a costly slip up on show. The price for an own goal is definitely worth a go.
AN OWN GOAL TO BE SCORED
Head to Head
As would be expected for a local derby, the overall record between these two clubs is very close. Arsenal enjoyed the better results in the Premier League last season – with a win and a draw – while Tottenham won the EFL Cup tie between the two.
Arsenal to win the match
This should be a typically close affair as both teams attempt to keep their cool while getting the win that will give their fans the local bragging rights. Although Arsenal still have a few defensive issues to sort out – and David Luiz does not seem like the answer – the attack has been strengthened and that could make all the difference in this one.
