AC Milan vs Juventus: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
Sparks always fly when Milan and Juventus meet, but on this occasion there’s a number of storylines to make this a high rollers match.
The intensity we’ve always seen in Milan–Juventus encounters hasn’t suffered in recent years despite the former not contending at the very top of the table.
The encounter this time around has the extra ignition of Leonardo Bonucci returning to the San Siro after reversing his Turin to Milan move after just a year, and of course Gonzalo Higuain facing the club which dumped him in the summer.
This season has seen Juventus transform into a more possession-based side with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. So despite being the away team, you can expect Massimiliano Allegri’s side to control the game whilst Milan hope their defence can hold up and counter attack via Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu.
The biggest question is whether Milan’s defence can actually hold up. The Old Lady are the top scoring side in Italy for good reason, with the firepower of Ronaldo, Paolo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in their team.
The Rossoneri’s defence hasn’t been as good as the other top teams this season, conceding 14 goals in 11 games.
One plus is that Milan are unbeaten at home this season, winning four games and drawing one. On the contrary Juventus haven’t so much as dropped a point on their travels as of yet. Both offensively and defensively, Juve are incredible so it’s natural to look towards a win for them, 2-1.
- Over 2.5 goals
High profile games can often explode into life but consider that there have been over 2.5 goals in Milan’s last seven home games, Juventus have scored at least two goals in 11 of their last 12 matches. Evens for this bet is fantastic.
- First goalscorer – Cristiano Ronaldo
Picking the Portuguese striker to score seems like a bit of a cheat code at the minute but for good reason. Big players step up for big occasions, Ronaldo breaking the deadlock is an educated bet for sure.
