Can Watford Upset Manchester United at Vicarage Road Once Again?

Premier League Week 2

Watford made history in September 2016 when they beat Manchester United for the first time in 30 years. Roberto Pereyra and Sebastian Prodl were the standout stars as the Hornets swarmed all over the Red Devils. Marco Silva has since replaced Walter Mazzarri in the dugout and his side will be aiming to repeat the trick when the two sides meet on November 28th.

The Hertfordshire side arrive here in good form having beaten West Ham and Newcastle keeping two clean sheets in the process. Silva’s men looked imperious going forward against the Toon and will be aiming to start on the front foot against Jose Mourinho’s side.

Will Hughes was the star man against Rafa Benitez’s side as the Watford midfield dominated proceedings. The former Derby man is priced at 27/5 with 888Sport to find the net once again and make it two in two.

Their all-conquering display helped move them up to eight in the Premier League just two points behind Liverpool who occupy the final European spot. They could cause real problems for Manchester United who needed a Lewis Dunk own goal to squeeze past a dogged Brighton on November 25th.

Mourinho fielded a frontline of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford but the combination failed to impress and changes are likely for this tie. Paul Pogba also came back into the side with the French midfielder slowly returning to full fitness after his injury lay-off.

Aside from last season’s disappointment, United can boast a good record at this ground and have left with all of the points on five of their last six visits. Mourinho’s men are without an away victory in the Premier League since an undeserved 1-0 success against Southampton and they will be aiming to end that disappointing run here.
