Russia vs Croatia Predictions
Russia played the perfect system against Spain and it nullified the threat of La Roja. Stanislav Cherchesov’s side played a back five which stopped their opponents finding a route to goal and the experienced coach may be tempted to implement similar tactics against Croatia. Zlatko Dalic’s men were terrific for the first half hour against Denmark before becoming visibly frustrated and losing their shape in the second half. They did threaten in extra time and Luka Modric’s penalty miss offered the Danes a reprieve but it was all in vain. The pair were inseparable throughout the 120 minutes and Croatia may be playing this game with heavier legs having competed later in the day. There is a lot of expectancy surrounding both sides and this game may also end all-square. It’s priced at 11/5 with Betfred and looks a decent option.
Russia vs Croatia Preview
The streets of Moscow were awash with fans on Sunday night as supporters spilt out of pubs and bars to celebrate their side’s success against Spain. Russia required penalties to sneak past Spain but their tactics were spot on and they deserve their place in the final eight. They didn’t have the smoothest build-up to the tournament with a number of players picking up injuries but with the home fans roaring them on, they’ve put in a number of creditable performances. Artem Dzyuba has been a revelation since replacing Fyodor Smolov and he will act as a battering ram once again.
Croatia enjoyed a perfect group stage campaign, taking nine points from a possible nine. They just about prevailed against Denmark, requiring penalties to sneak past the resolute Danish defence. They were a bit lifeless in the second half and lost their shape and that will concern some Croatian fans. They have a number of classy players such as Ivan Perisic and Luka Modric who could potentially win this game in 90 minutes for Croatia but they will need to be a bit more inventive in order to break down the Russian resistance.
Both Teams to Score Prediction
The prices suggest that very few goals are expected in this quarter-final contest but I think each team should find the back of the net. Croatia have netted in each of their four World Cup matches so far and have now conceded in successive contests. Russia can mix it up but will probably opt to use Artem Dzyuba’s ariel ability and set-pieces may be their best route to goal. Both Teams to Score? Yes offers decent value and is available at 6/5 with William Hill.
Russia vs Croatia Correct Score Prediction
Each of these two sides looked a little tired towards the end of their round of 16 game and fatigue could take it’s toll in this tie. Croatia may lack the invention to break down Russia, whilst Russia aren’t naturally high goalscorers, unless they’re facing minnows. 1-1 looks to be the most appealing outcome in the correct score market and it can be backed at 51/10 with 10Bet.
