Previewing This Weekend’s Best Premier League Games

Premier League Week 2

Ahead of a break for the FA Cup fifth round, the Premier League serves up another terrific feast of football across the weekend. All eyes will be on Wembley for the North London derby, which is always a hugely enjoyable spectacle. Spurs are seeking revenge after losing 2-0 at the Emirates earlier in the season and following their hugely impressive performance here against Manchester United, it’s easy to see why they are favourites. Mauricio Pochettino’s side were also excellent against Liverpool, a match in which they twice came from behind to secure a point. The hosts are priced at evens with 888sport to pick up all three points here against their rivals. Arsenal come 0ff the back of a thumping victory over Everton and will fancy their chances of picking something up in this clash.

Despite dropping points on February 3 to Burnley, Manchester City continue their domination at the top of the Premier League table and they host Leicester in the day’s late game. Pep Guardiola’s side have lost a number of players to injury but have enough strength in depth and can be backed at around 2/9 for success. They are 8/13 -1 on the handicap.

Manchester United won’t find it easy at St James’ Park

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have been a frustrating side to break down for many an opposition team this season and their defensive record has helped them cement second place in the table. Newcastle are likely to find it tough to forge a way through when the two sides meet at St James’ Park. The Toon’s alarming lack of firepower has hindered their progress this season and they are priced up as 9/2 outsiders for this game. New signing Islam Slimani could be in line to make his debut in a Newcastle shirt and he could make a huge difference here. Newcastle have been resolute for long periods of this season and they will set out to frustrate their visitors in what could be a low scoring contest. Under 2.5 Goals is priced at 4/5 with Betfair.
