Portugal vs Morocco Predictions
Understandably, Portugal are the odds-on favourites for their second Group B match at the 2018 World Cup. Fernando Santos’ men will be expected to pick up three points against a Moroccan side who are extremely well-organised but are limited in the final third. Against Iran, they created few chances of note although Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech proved a handful throughout. A momentary lapse of concentration cost them a point and this looks significantly tougher. They are unlikely to test a vastly experienced Portuguese defence in this clash and the European champions should just about edge this. They can be backed at 3/5 with William Hill.
Portugal vs Morocco Preview
Morocco started brightly against Iran but faded in the second half and were undone in the dying embers of the game. That puts them in an extremely difficult position and they simply must pick up something from this clash. They are difficult to score against but they lack quality in the final third. They need to test the Portuguese defence in this game.
Fernando Santos’ men were hardly convincing at Euro 2016 and they made an early exit in Brazil but they will fancy their chances of progressing from Group B. They will have earmarked this game as the perfect chance to pick up three points but Morocco won’t make it straightforward for them. They made a fantastic start against Spain but weren’t able to keep their neighbours off the scoresheet. Cristiano Ronaldo looked extremely sharp throughout the 90 minutes and he should be able to pose a few problems for Morocco.
Portugal vs Morocco Score Prediction
Morocco’s defeat to Iran won’t live long in the memory and this isn’t likely to be a classic either. Portugal are the epitome of efficiency and will be relying upon Cristiano Ronaldo once again in the final third. He netted a wonderful hat-trick against Spain and will be looking to add to his haul. Morocco didn’t create much in their opening Group B game and their opponents should be able to nullify their limited threat. Santos will want his side to get back to basics and a 1-0 win for the European champions would suit them perfectly. It is a likely outcome and it is priced at 4/1 with Royal Panda.
Morocco’s game don’t feature many goals. Three of their six qualifying matches ended goalless and they kept clean sheets in all of their matches. Barring their late blemish, they rarely looked like conceding against Iran. Portugal were near-perfect during their qualifying campaign and their defence excelled but they didn’t impress against Spain. They should find Morocco much easier to contain. This should be decided by a single goal. Under 2.5 Goals is 8/13 with Royal Panda.
Both Teams to Score Prediction
As detailed above, neither of these two teams are likely to suffer too many lapses and this could be a tight and cagey affair. After losing to Iran, Morocco cannot afford to suffer another defeat and they will be extra vigilant at the back. At the other end of the pitch, they looked lively for the first 25 minutes but rarely threatened after that. Both Teams to Score? No is 7/11 with 888Sport and looks a decent option.
