Man City vs Fulham: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Fulham face their toughest task yet on their return to the Premier League as they travel to an in-form Manchester City.
Fulham have recovered from a shaky start to their return to top-flight football and have seen some fine performances rewarded with a win at home to Burnley and a draw when they visited Brighton. Manchester City have looked on fire this season however and it is hard to see anything but a home win here.
Kevin De Bruyne is looking at a spell on the sidelines after sustaining ligament damage but even with such an important player out City can still bring in some of the best footballers in the world as replacements. Pep Guardiola has such a talent pool at his disposal that his starting eleven will nearly always be favourites.
Fulham did some excellent transfer business over the summer with new signings Jean Michel Seri, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Alfie Mawson complementing what was already a very good young squad. The loan signings of Andre Schürrle, Calum Chambers and Timothy Fosu-Mensah also show that the Cottagers mean business.
Guardiola likes to rotate his squad but has looked to Sergio Agüero up front so far – alongside Gabriel Jesus. Bernardo Silva is another star that has looked very impressive this season and City are already looking the team to beat – even though they dropped points away at Wolves. Manchester City to win 4-1.
It is difficult to see anything but a City win in this game but Fulham have played some really nice football this season and Mitrovic in particular has shown the form that Newcastle could never seem to get from him. He is a real handful and could get what would probably be a consolation goal at the Etihad.
When City get going they can really put on a show and Fulham’s defence just won’t be able to deal with the threats of Agüero, Jesus, Silva and Raheem Sterling. Expect lots of goals – with Fulham contributing as well.

Head to Head
City haven’t faced Fulham since 2014 when the put five unanswered goals past them at home. They also scored four in the return fixture and it could be more of the same in this match.
- Manchester City broke all kinds of Premier League records last season and they are already leading the way this season in goals scored with 11.
- His potential wasn’t reached at his time in Newcastle but Mitrovic has looked a real talent since he was first loaned to Fulham in January. A permanent move was sealed in the summer and he has already scored four goals so far this season.
- Pep Guardiola’s sides are always known for their passing prowess and that hasn’t changed since he swapped Munich for Manchester. Only Chelsea have completed more passes than City so far this season.
- When they were last in the Premier League Fulham only won nine games and scored 40 goals. They have already netted nine times this season so it looks like it won’t be lack of goals that will be the problem this campaign.
