Liverpool vs Napoli: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
It’s winner takes all in this final Champions League match day with Liverpool and Napoli fighting for a place in the knockout rounds.
When the Champions League group stage was drawn, all eyes turned to Group C and so far, it’s more than lived up to the hype – unlike so many vaunted games of football. The Napoli, PSG and Liverpool dynamic has duly delivered with each team delivering blows to one another. Even the supposed bottom feeder of the group, Red Star Belgrade, is still in with a chance of finishing third, which is at least helpful for betting site’s odds on qualification.
As for the Napoli’s trip to Liverpool, it’s going to be surely be a closely contested affair. Both Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are top tier tacticians and there will be no gaps in the others’ game plan to exploit.
With not much in the two teams, this one will likely be decided by the team who makes one simple error. Anfield has a history of famous European nights and if the crowd are up for this one like they were for the Manchester City game last season, Napoli could be pressurised into a multitude of errors.
Both sides have immense attacking quality and if one team scores early, the game could explode into life. Liverpool are better at exploding into life – 2-1 to Klopp’s side.
- Over 2.5 goals
Considering that both of these sides are incredibly gifted in the attacking sense as well as this being essentially a winner takes all match, you can expect goals. If one of these sides gets the go ahead goal, the other will have to go all-out attack thus opening the game up. From a statistical standpoint, there have been over 2.5 goals in 13 of Liverpool’s last 16 Champions League games as well.
- Liverpool and both teams to score
Everybody knows that Anfield on a Champions League night is special, let alone in must-win games. The crowd will be pumped up for this one and Liverpool have the superior XI which should be enough to put them through. However, Napoli grabbing at least one is more probable than not.
