Leeds United vs Derby County: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
Two Premier League hopefuls go head-to-head in a showdown where goals seem almost guaranteed.
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds haven’t been used to stuttering along this season. Despite three losses on the bounce in all competitions and two in the Championship, the Yorkshire based side have still been far and away the best team in the league this season.
Derby County couldn’t be asking much more from rookie coach Frank Lampard in his first full-time job in football management as they reside inside the play-off places in sixth.
If there’s one thing to be guaranteed in this game, it’s goals. Leeds have become known for their brilliant football and thrilling dramatics in games this season and are also the fifth highest scoring team in the league with 44 goals scored in 26 games. Derby aren’t too far behind with 38 goals in 26 and the seventh best attack.
The advantage on a whole can be handed to Leeds due to their defensive form despite the last few games with 28 goals conceded whilst Derby are slightly more shaky with 32 conceded.
There’s less quality between these two sides than the eight point gap would suggest. However due to home advantage and the away side being in worse form, a Leeds victory looks likely – 3-2.
- Leeds to win and both teams to score
Whilst the Yorkshire based club have had a slight dip in form, you can still expect them to beat an out of form Derby and continue to be a thorn in the side of UK betting sites.
With Leeds conceding at least two goals in their last four Championship games, and the fact they themselves have scored 44 goals in 26 league games, there’s sure to be goals.
- Over 2.5 goals
If you’re put off by the home side’s recent form then consider betting on pure goals on this occasion at some very convincing odds.
