France vs Argentina Predictions

Other Bookmakers

France finished top of Group C but they weren’t particularly prolific during the early stages of the competition. They have an embarrassment of riches in the final third but they only netted three times in 270 minutes of football and they will need to be far more decisive in the knock-out rounds. They have been drawn against Argentina and will fancy their chances of exploiting their opponents’ defensive vulnerabilities. Jorge Sampaoli’s side have been hugely underwhelming and were lucky to sneak through to the round of 16. They have goals in their side but have struggled at the back and are yet to keep a clean sheet. By contrast, France’s defence has looked reasonably steady and that gives them the edge here. They should be backed at 11/8 with Betfred.

France vs Argentina Preview

Despite possessing one of the most potent attacks in the competition, France have been far from entertaining so far. They’ve netted just three times and two of those goals came against Australia. Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe were both popular in the pre-tournament Golden Boot market but they’ve only netted one goal each so far and they will be keen to add to their tally in this contest. Didier Deschamps’ side have looked fairly comfortable at the back with clean sheets against both Peru and Denmark and they look well balanced overall. Their solidity and organisation could prove to be the difference in this fixture.

Argentina looked on course to crash out of the competition at the group stage but a late Marcus Rojo strike saved them from embarrassment. The defender later revealed that Lionel Messi had delivered a rousing team-talk in the tunnel, telling the players not to panic and stay calm. They have an abundance of attacking talent but they are struggling at the back and Javier Mascherano has been a liability so far. Jorge Sampaoli will be hoping his side can pull off a shock here and book their place in the last eight.

France vs Argentina Correct Score Prediction

France are likely to ask plenty of questions of the Argentinian defence and they should find plenty of joy. Les Bleus netted twice against Australia, winning 2-1 and a similar scoreline looks a real possibility here. Argentina don’t keep clean sheets and they aren’t likely to be as sloppy as they were against Croatia. Didier Deschamps’ side have been doing just enough to win games and 2-1 is available at 10/1 with Bet365.

Both Teams to Score Prediction

Other Bookmakers

Argentina are yet to keep a clean sheet in the competition and it’s hard to trust them at the back. Despite their wealth of talent in the final third, they don’t have many top-class defenders and there’s a lack of organisation at the back. France have kept two clean sheets so far but stopping Lionel Messi is easier said than done. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 6/5 with William Hill.

France vs Argentina Odds

William Hill have made France 13/10 favourites for this clash and Les Bleus are likely to be popular with punters. It’s 2/1 for the game to end all square and require extra time or penalties. Argentina can’t be completely discounted and are available at 12/5.

Are they offering a standout price of 6/5 for Both Teams to Score? Yes in this game.
