Brighton’s Woes on Their Travels Likely to Continue at the Emirates

Brighton picked up a notable win on September 24 with a narrow success at the AMEX against in-form Newcastle. The Seagulls’ next Premier League fixture looks significantly tough as they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

It’s been a busy week for the Gunners, who have played three times in six days. Arsene Wenger’s side weren’t wholly convincing during their 2-0 victory against West Brom but an Alexandre Lacazette double was enough to secure them all of the points.

The North London outfit were in action on September 28, winning 4-2 in Borisov during a topsy-turvy encounter with Belarussian side BATE. Wenger opted to rest numerous players including Alexis Sanchez and Monday’s hero Lacazette in order to keep them fresh for this Premier League clash with the Seagulls.

Chris Hughton’s side haven’t enjoyed their travels in the top flight so far with defeats to Bournemouth and Leicester as well as a goalless draw with Watford. They’ve scored just a single goal so far away from the AMEX and it’s no surprise that Paddy Power price them up as 12/1 outsiders.

The visitors will be without Beram Kayal, Sam Baldock and Steve Sidwell for this clash whilst Arsenal have Danny Welbeck and Francis Coquelin sidelined.

With such a hectic schedule, Arsenal will be pleased to get this fixture out of the way and three points would keep them in touch with the top six. The Gunners have kept back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League and will be hoping to continue that run here. Shkodran Mustafi has been excellent in recent weeks and the German could help his side to another three points against Brighton.
