Australia vs Peru Predictions
Peru were the last side to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and they’ve been drawn in Group C. It’s a relatively tough section but the South American side are in with a chance of making it through. They have captain Paolo Guerrero back in the side and his goals are likely to be crucial to their progress. This is arguably their easiest game in this group and they will fancy their chances of collecting three points. Australia are working under a new coach and Bert Van Marwijk will be hoping his side can cause an upset at this tournament.
Australia vs Peru Odds
Head to Head
This is the first meeting between these two teams.
Aaron Mooy – The Huddersfield midfielder is regarded as one of most talented players in the side and he enjoyed a profitable debut Premier League season. Australia don’t have a huge pool of players to choose from but Mooy is definitely the stand-out star. He is likely to feature regularly throughout the tournament and is back in favour following the departure of Ange Postecoglu. He’s settled his differences with the coaching staff and could be key to their chances of progressing.
Paolo Guerrero – He may be 34 years old but Paolo Guerrero is still absolutely essential to Peru’s style of play. The captain has returned to the side following a drugs ban with a Swiss court overturning the decision. Australia’s Mile Jedinak was just one of many players who lobbied for Guerrero to be allowed to play in the tournament but he may come to regret that sportsmanship in this fixture. He is a regular goalscorer and has helped a number of the squad’s younger members.
