Aston Villa vs Leeds: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds
Aston Villa look to prove their promotion credentials as they welcome Leeds United to the West Midlands.
After back to back victories at the start of the season Aston Villa endured a sticky patch until the end of October but are now playing some impressive stuff and are looking to go on a run over the Christmas period that will see them in good stead for the play off spots at the very least.
Marcelo Bielsa has been like a breath of fresh air for Leeds as they have performed incredibly so far this season – playing the very attractive style of football that the Argentine manager is well known for. Fans are starting to dream of returning to the top flight and Villa will have to be on top form to keep out the Yorkshire side.
Villa’s recent run of form has seen them beat Derby, Middlesbrough and Birmingham as well as being involved in a 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest. Things are starting to look bright again at Villa Park – but this division is hard to get out of so Dean Smith will need to have done his homework to be able to deal with Leeds’ attacking force.
Being thrashed 4-1 at West Brom at the start of November was a wake up call for Leeds and they have responded well with Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez in particular weighing in with some impressive performances as well as goals. Villa away is a tough fixture but Leeds could sneak this 1-0.
