Arsenal Likely to Face a Tough Afternoon at the Etihad
Manchester City have been largely unplayable this season and sit proudly at the top of the Premier League with ten matches under their belt. They found life at The Hawthorns tough but they escaped with all three points despite a late goal from Matty Phillips on October 28. Pep Guardiola’s side have now scored 13 goals in their last three Premier League games with ten of those arriving here at the Etihad.
City face a tricky Champions League tie in Italy in midweek but have enough depth in their squad to still play a strong XI when they host the Gunners on November 5. Raheem Sterling has nine goals in all competitions for the Citizens and the England winger is always a threat. He is 13/8 to score during the 90 minutes with 888sport.
Pep’s side have only dropped points against Everton so far this season and have already beaten Chelsea in West London, which has seen them emerge as the early pacesetters in the top flight. Arsenal have made a spluttering start to the campaign and narrowly squeezed past Swansea on October 28 at the Emirates. The Gunners have won just one of their opening five matches on the road and many punters will be racing to oppose the visitors here.
They hit five at Goodison Park during their last away trip but the Toffees are in freefall and City’s defence is unlikely to be as hospitable. John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have improved significantly and with Ederson barking out orders behind them, there is a resolute feel about the Pep’s backline this season.
The Gunners also have European commitments this week, although Wenger is likely to heavily rotate with his side firmly in the driving seat at the top of Group H. Red Star Belgrade are unlikely to cause too many problems for the hosts and key players such as Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey could be rested with the Premier League showdown at the Etihad in mind.
