Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to take the FA Cup seriously with Liverpool’s title race in full swing, whereas Wolves could be eyeing up a lengthy run.

It feels as though that the FA Cup has become made for teams like Wolves in recent years with the big sides taking the competition less seriously. Despite a supposed easier run comparative to a few decades ago, it’s seldom a team like Wolves gets far in the competition.

However, the third round tie against Liverpool provides a great opportunity for the Midlands club. They’re establishing themselves as among the best sides outside of the Premier League’s top six this season with 29 points from 20 games. However, it’s unlikely they’re going to break into the top six but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an excellent chance to go far in this competition.

The man himself won’t admit it but Klopp is bound to play a weakened with the Merseyside club’s title race getting into full swing. This may not be an upset in the traditional sense, but no tears will be shed in Liverpool if they lose this one, 2-1 Wolves.

Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Liverpool’s last three games in the FA Cup, which isn’t a surprise considering their manager’s philosophy. The German is expected to put out a weakened side but such is Liverpool’s depth that it’ll still contain some fantastic players. Goals are to be guaranteed.

  • Wolves to win and both teams to score

Wolves have proven they can give any team in the Premier League a serious challenge, beating Tottenham Hotspur just a few days ago. Their last meeting with Liverpool was close too, and adding the home win to both teams to score makes interesting odds from UK betting sites.
