This Week’s Stand-Out Matches: Warriors Face Easy Games, Rockets Battle Utah Jazz

The Golden State Warriors Face Easy Battle

This is set to be a relatively laid-back week for the NBA favourites. The Warriors currently stand first at -200 in odds to win the 2017-2018 NBA championship and this week will give them the chance to retain that score. On Monday, February 26, they face the fatigued Knicks, who come fresh from a 121-112 loss against the Boston Celtics. Yet the Knicks seem to have managed to narrow their loss margins a bit lately, so Warriors still need to be careful and take this seriously. The last time the two teams met, on January 23, the Warriors had an easy task of prevailing with 123-112.

Next, they face the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, a team that has done surprisingly well, beating the Celtics on Christmas day and the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-103 last Thursday. Yet they come fresh off a loss with Charlotte Hornets, a team that stands at -20000 in odds to win the NBA Championship. So the Wizards seem a bit unstable in terms of predictions, which very well result in a surprise come Wednesday.

The Rockets Have Interesting Game Ahead with Utah Jazz

The Houston Rockets have shown an incredible track record so far, overtaking the Cleveland Cavaliers as the NBA’s second favorites. This week will be interesting for them, as they take on Utah Jazz on Monday, who come from a 12-1 winning streak, including a win against the Warriors on January 30.

Although the Rockets also come from a 15-1 winning streak, also including a win against the Warriors and the Cavaliers, the game with Jazz might prove tricky. The Utah team lost both times the two teams met before, so they are out for revenge against the Rockets and desperately want to take a win home to push their chances.
