This Week’s Stand-Out Matches: Cavaliers Trying to Up Their Game, Rockets and Celtics Going In Strong
Disoriented Cavaliers in Back to Back Games
Fatigue and disorientation will obviously be a factor in next week’s games for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they try to pull off the ultimate rebound from a less than great season so far. They hope to do that with the help of a shaken up roster, which already saw them beat the Celtics in last week’s game 121-99 and then the Oklahoma Thunder with 120-112. This week will see them face the Washington Wizards and the Memphis Grizzlies back to back on Feb. 23 and 24.
Although the Grizzlies are no match for the Cavs, the Wizards are fresh from two wins over the Knicks and the Bulls – but they struggled against the top 5 defences of the 76ers and the Celtics. Yet the Cavs still remain 3rd in odds of winning the NBA Championship with Betway Sports – at 8.00 below the Houston Rockets at 7.00 and the Warriors at 1.50 – so they need to act quickly. There are only two months left before the playoffs to undo the damage.
Rockets and Celtics Expected to Score Easy Wins
The Houston Rockets have just raised their game to a 10-game winning streak by beating the Timberwolves and the Sacramento Kings in back to back games last week. They are more than ready to repeat their triumph against the Minnesota team on Feb. 23rd. The Timberwolves, however, are expected to put up a fight, as they have performed consistently well this season and lost with narrow margins.
The Knicks are trying to push through after an underwhelming season and the recent injury of their superstar Porzingis. They are up against the Boston Celtics on February 24, who will also face the Pistons the previous day. The Celtics are reeling from 3 losses in a row but they still have one of the best defences in the league and shining star Kyrie Irving leading the offensive. It is expected that when faced with the Boston team, the Knicks will only add one more loss to their recent 8-game losing streak.
