Tottenham vs Watford: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
An injury hit Tottenham welcome Watford to Wembley Stadium as they try to regain the form that sees them sitting in one of the Champions League spots.
Tottenham left it very late against Fulham but Harry Winks’ stoppage time goal gave them a vital three points if they are not only to keep the pressure on Manchester City and Liverpool for the title – but ensure the teams below them do not decrease the points gap in regard to Champions League spots. Online betting sites will be expecting a home win here but it will not be easy against Watford.
Watford were frustrated by Burnley – and Tom Heaton in particular – last time out but played some good football and will be encouraged by Mauricio Pochettino’s ever increasing injury list. The Hornets seem to have shaken off their mid season drop in form but boss Javi Gracia will want some of their drawn games to be turned into victories.
Dele Alli is the latest Spurs injury problem with the England midfielder likely to be out for a month at least. He joins Harry Kane who will be unavailable for around the same amount of time – and Heung-Min Son who is on Asian Cup duty with South Korea. Tottenham could struggle if Watford get their tactics right and this could be a closer game than many sportsbooks are predicting.
Watford may not have Champions League aspirations but a Europa League spot is not out of the question and Javi Gracia will be thinking that this is the best time to play Tottenham given their injury problems. Watford have not been able to win a lot of matches recently but a draw here would be a good result. This could end 1-1.
Watford are slowly regaining early season form and could cause Spurs a few problems. There’s good value to be had as 10Bet have the draw at 11/4.
- Total goals under 2.5
Without Harry Kane and Dele Alli Spurs will not make as many chances so there may not be many goals at Wembley. 888Sport have total goals under 2.5 goals at 23/20.

Head To Head
Watford beat Spurs at Vicarage Road earlier in the season and only went down on penalties in their EFL Cup encounter. But they have not beaten Tottenham away from home since 1994.
- If Lucas Moura joins Harry Kane Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son by missing the Watford match Tottenham’s top goal scorer in the Premier League will be Erik Lamela on four.
- Javi Gracia is the first Watford manager since Gianfranco Zola left in 2013 to celebrate a one-year anniversary at the club.
- Only three goalkeepers have kept more clean sheets than Hugo Lloris in the Premier League this season.
- Javi Gracia will be trying to work out how to get his side to win more matches. One thing they can do is to score fewer own goals – they top that particular table with three.
