Tottenham vs Newcastle: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham welcome Newcastle to Wembley with three points a must if they are to keep in touch with the top two.
Spurs will have been bitterly disappointed to lose at home to Manchester United – and have followed that up by getting knocked out of the EFL Cup. With interest still in the Champions League they may find it hard to compete on all fronts but a comfortable victory will be expected at home to Newcastle.
Newcastle are seemingly always in turmoil and with fans not happy with the way the club is run, performances on the pitch have also suffered. Rafa Benitez is doing the best he can but his side are not looking good enough for the Premier League and they will need to start picking up some more points quickly if they are to escape a return to the Championship.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli will both still be missing through injury for the visit of Newcastle but South Korea’s exit form the Asian Cup means that Heung-min Son should be available – and he may be the one Pochettino looks to for goals, as Fernando Llorente has not been able to fill the gap left by the England internationals.
Online betting sites will have Spurs as strong favourites here and it is hard to argue with their predictions as Newcastle have only beaten Burnley and Huddersfield away from home all season. The recent victory over fellow strugglers will have given Newcastle a boost but Tottenham should win this one 3-0.
Tottenham to win to nil
Newcastle have a woeful scoring record this season and even with Tottenham’s main strike threat unavailable they should still be the only team to get some goals.
Tottenham to win
The bookmakers obviously think Spurs will win so for some kind of betting value a correct score may be the way to go.

Head To Head
Spurs won 2-1 at St James’ Park earlier in the season but have not enjoyed this fixture at home so much recently, winning just one of the last four Premier League matches in the capital.
- Tottenham are the only team in the top four divisions not to draw a single league match this season.
- Newcastle desperately need to score some goals soon – only bottom of the table Huddersfield have found the net on fewer occasions.
- Christian Eriksen is continuing to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and the Denmark international has assisted in eight goals this season.
- If a team does not have possession regularly then they are going to struggle to get positive results and only Cardiff have made fewer passes than Newcastle this season.
