Stanley Cup Playoffs: Maple Leafs Need to Step Up at Home

Some playoff series are as many as three games in but nothing has been decided just yet. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets have experienced very different playoffs so far.

Eastern Conference so far

As expected, the Tampa Bay Lightning have been dominant over the New Jersey Devils. Winning 5-2 and 5-3 at home, the Bolts are at +145 to sweep the series.

After two games, the Toronto Maple Leafs have undoubtedly struggled. The Boston Bruins have been the strong, more resolute team, winning 5-1 and 7-3. Now, the Maple Leafs return home to try to turn the tide. They’re now at +425 to come back and win the series with the best Canadian bookmakers.

The Columbus Blue Jackets versus Washington Capitals series has been gruelling, to say the least. But, Columbus came out on top twice in overtime in Washington. Now returning home, Columbus is +235 to sweep the series.

The Battle for Pennsylvania has been epic so far, with sweeping victories in each game. The Pittsburgh Penguins lead the series 2-1 after Game 3 and are +325 to win in seven games.

Western Conference so far

Favourites to win it all at +325, the Nashville Predators have dominated the Colorado Avalanche so far. Nashville is at +140 to take the series 4-1.

The Winnipeg Jets overwhelmed the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center to go 2-0 up. But, the Manitoba team were rather sluggish in Minnesota. With away games potentially being a speed bump, the Jets are at +300 to win 4-3.

In their first-ever Stanley Cup playoffs series, the newcomers are obliterating the veterans. Each game between the Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings has been decided by just one goal, with Vegas scoring one more goal in each game. Vegas is now at +105 to sweep the Kings 4-0.

San Jose came into their series as the underdogs by the bookies. After two games, they have proven to be the dominant team by going 2-0 up on the Anaheim Ducks. Evander Kane scored his first ever playoff goal in his postseason debut. Then, he scored again in the same period! The Ducks are +650 long-shots to comeback and beat the Sharks.

The playoffs are heating up and, hopefully, the teams from Canada can pull through.
