Three-time European champions Spain kick off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign against a Norway side seeking to make the tournament finals for the first time since 2000.
Many believe Spain’s golden generation has now passed but underestimate Luis Enrique’s men at your peril.
As they prepare to kick off their qualifying campaign against Norway, the Spaniards are overwhelming favourites to get the three points with popular online betting sites despite a disappointing Nations League campaign which saw them miss out on the semi-finals.
A 6-0 victory over World Cup finalists Croatia was proof enough that Spain are still a prolific force when on song, but Norway are no fools.
After topping their Nations League C group with four wins, Lars Lagerbäck can look forward to a promotion to group B next time round which has proven perfect preparation for an assault on European qualification.
However, aside from a shock defeat to Norway during Euro 2000, Spain have had the measure of the Scandinavians with four wins from six games and on home soil look the smart way to go for an outright match winner.
In two of Spain’s four wins over the Norwegians, they have managed three-goals in the game and with Spain’s undoubted superior quality, much of the same is expected.
Expect Norway to trouble Spain’s goal, but for the home side to shine through in a steady 3-1 home win.
Spain to win and both teams to score
Spain has scored nine goals in just three home games since the World Cup and only ever lost once against Norway whilst the visitors have only failed to score in one of their last four away games making this a great way to go with online sportsbooks for match result value.
A draw at half time
Spain has failed to score in the first half in their last three games in all competitions whilst Norway has only scored four goals in their last five games.

Head to Head
This will be the seventh meeting between the two with Spain boasting the superior record with four wins.
However, Norway did inflict a surprise 1-0 win over their opponents during Euro 2000 although that remains the Lions’ only victory over La Furia Roja.
The last time the pair met, Spain ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in a 2003 European Championship playoff to qualify for the 2004 tournament.
- Spain have won the European Championships a total of three times (1964, 2008, 2012).
- Norway have not qualified for the Euro finals since 2000 when the side were eliminated at the group stage.
- The first ever meeting between the two came in March 1978 with Spain winning a friendly 3-0.
- Norway won their Nations League group to earn promotion to division B.
