Seahawks vs Packers: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Thursday November 15th, 8:20 pm Eastern Time
Seattle went toe-to-toe with the NFC’s best a week ago, only to lose in the final minutes, and drop below .500 on the season. Green Bay found a ground game in their victory over the Dolphins, and ran themselves back into playoff contention in a tightly contested NFC North.
Hey, would you look at that! Mike McCarthy featured Aaron Jones in the run game, and it actually benefited the team! Who would have thunk it? In what may be the league’s worst kept secret, Aaron Jones needed/deserved more touches, and after a 15 carry, 145-yard, 2-touchdown performance in week 10 Aaron Rodgers is also buying the hype on Jones. Rodgers was quoted as stating he believes that the Packers “need to give [Aaron Jones] more opportunities.” Expect a heavy dose of Jones on Thursday night.
Speaking of run games, the Seahawks rushed for an absurd 273 yards in week 10, and that was without their leading rusher, Chris Carson. Carson has already been deemed ready to go for Thursday night by Coach Pete Carroll. Carson has rushed over 100 yards in three of the past four games that he has started and finished.
While both teams have dominated on the ground offensively, they have done the complete opposite on the other side of the ball. Both Green Bay and Seattle surrendered at least 6.9 ypc to the opposition’s leading rusher a week ago. Expect both teams to stick to the ground game this week. The difference maker in this one could be Davante Adams. Adams has had at least 80 yards receiving, or a touchdown, in every single game this season, and ranks second in the NFL in receiving touchdowns. Yet, even with that being said, the 12th man is alive and well in Seattle. I’m drinking the hipster cold brew Seattle is serving, and rolling with the league’s best home field advantage, along with Russell Wilson’s feet, to catapult the Hawks over the Pack.
Score prediction: Seahawks win 28-27
Seattle comes in favored thanks to the previously mentioned, vaunted home field advantage. Take Aaron Rodgers, the points, and the most underrated wide receiver in football.
Seattle has surrendered at least 100 yards to opponent’s leading receivers in three of their last four games, with the lone exception being Oakland. The simple fact is that Oakland’s receivers would likely struggle eclipsing 100 yards against air. We get to see two of the leagues best at the QB position face off Thursday night. Expect a show, especially in the closing minutes, where points could be scored in bunches.
