Russia vs Croatia Predictions

Both of these sides will be eyeing up further progress in the competition and the draw appears to have been kind to each of these two teams. They each needed penalties to sneak past the opposition during the last round of games and this could be an interesting tactical battle between the pair. Croatia have netted a few goals at the tournament but struggled to break down Denmark on July 1st despite a lively opening half hour. They lost their shape in the second half and Zlatko Dalic must stress the importance of tactical discipline. Russia held Spain to ransom in Moscow with La Roja unable to find a way past a solid home defence. These two teams are unlikely to serve up a swashbuckling 90 minutes of footballing and it could result in a stalemate. A draw is priced up at 3.10 with Pinnacle.

Russia vs Croatia Preview

The hosts have made excellent progress at this tournament and the home fans have been celebrating their endeavours on the streets of Moscow. It’s the first time in 48 years that they’ve reached this stage of the competition and they will be keen to make it to the final four. They battled hard against Spain and surrendered possession and territory to La Roja who then found themselves unable to break them down across the 120 minutes. They haven’t played eye-catching football at times but they’ve been efficient and effective and Stanislav Cherchesov should take plenty of credit for their recent performances.

Croatia weren’t at their best against Denmark but they progressed via a penalty shoot-out. They should have won it in the second half of extra time but Kasper Schmeichel’s penalty save denied Luka Modric the chance to notch his third goal of the 2018 World Cup. Zlatko Dalic’s men have some wonderfully talented players and they will be looking to get them on the ball as often as possible. They lacked width in the second half of the game against Denmark and the likes of Sime Vrsaljko and Ivan Strinic will be asked to get forward at every opportunity.

Both Teams to Score Prediction

Croatia have netted eight times at the tournament and they will be expected to find a way past Russia here. The hosts have only kept one clean sheet at the World Cup and that came against Saudi Arabia in their opening fixture. They have looked far more threatening with Artem Dzyuba on the field and they will look to cause carnage from set-piece situations once again. There is plenty at stake and online bookmakers are expecting a low-scoring game but both sides should be able to find the back of the net. Both Teams to Score? Russia vs Croatia Correct Score Prediction

There doesn’t look to be much between these sides but both sets of fans will be expecting to see their teams progress. The home support will be roaring on their players with plenty of gusto whilst the away fans are also likely to travel in their numbers. The Croatian media has suggested that their side will be happy with the draw and should be expected to reach the final but it might not be a simple as that. A 1-1 correct score looks a likely outcome and extra time and penalties may be required once again. It is available at 5.55 with Intertops.
