Raptors vs Magic: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Tuesday 11/20 7:00 PM (ET),
Toronto got back to their winning ways on Saturday night, thanks to a blowout victory over the reeling Bulls. Orlando is riding a three game win streak and continues to exceed expectations on the young season.
The Raptors absolutely manhandled the Bulls over the weekend, to the tune of 122-83, and they did this without Kawhi Leonard in the lineup. A big reason for the dominant victory was the play of forward Pascal Siakam. Siakam has been one of the league’s most improved players to this point of the season. His continued improvement as a ball-handler has opened up Toronto’s offense, allowing Kyle Lowry to play more off the ball, which is paramount when Kawhi is out of the lineup.
The Magic have surprised many this season, and may have doubters questioning how much of a fluke this team may actually be. In the midst of their three game win streak, they’ve defeated LeBron’s Lakers, and the East’s 4th seeded Philadelphia 76ers with Jimmy Butler. Orlando’s frontcourt is the driving force to their team’s success. Aaron Gordon has developed from a high-flying highlight reel to a stat sheet stuffing stretch four. Nikola Vucevic continues to be one of the league’s most underrated players, yet still goes out and produces like an elite big man. Vucevic has scored a whopping 94 points during his team win streak.
Orlando’s well-rounded roster will be tested in this one, as Toronto sports both a top ten offense, and defense. Yet, Orlando has a strong possibility of grabbing the “W” in O-Town on Tuesday night. Orlando has the clear advantage in the frontcourt, and they own a top 12 defense of their own. To go along with Gordon and Vucevic, sophomore Jonathan Isaac and his lengthy frame will pay huge dividends vs. Toronto. Isaac is two games removed from accounting for five blocked shots. A player to keep an eye on is former Raptor, current Magic, Terrence Ross. Ross is enjoying a career year in Orlando, shooting 44.4% from the field, and nearly 40% from three. Ross will be seeking revenge come tipoff.
Score prediction: Magic win 112-109
- Toronto Raptors at Orlando Magic: Take Magic (with points)
Toronto will almost all but likely be favored in this game. Yet, it’s not guaranteed Kawhi will be active on Tuesday night. Orlando, not Toronto, is the team riding a three game win streak. The game takes place in Orlando, and in the last 5 meetings between these two teams, the home team is 3-1-1 ATS.
The Magic’s offense is coming off consecutive 130+ point outings, but those games came against the 24th and 25th ranked defenses in the NBA. On Tuesday, two top-12 defenses will matchup. If Kawhi doesn’t dress, there will be a huge dip in Toronto’s offensive output.
Head to Head
These two teams have faced off 81 times throughout the years, with the Raptors holding a slight edge over the Magic, 44-37. Toronto swept Orlando in the 2017-2018 season, going 3-0 during that span, and currently riding a four game win streak over Orlando.
