Raiders v Seahawks: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Thursday, August 30th, 10:00pm Eastern Time
Jon Gruden and his Oakland Raiders visit Seattle and the 12th man for their final preseason bout before the regular season.
Oakland’s undrafted rookie running back Chris Warren has been on a tear all preseason as he leads the league in rushing, outpacing any other back by at least 53 yards. Look for Warren to continue to get looks as Oakland will want to see if they can trust him come the regular season.
While Warren has been astounding, his opposition has been no slouch. Seattle’s Chris Carson has averaged 4.3 yards and will be looking to lock down the starting tailback gig with a strong showing, regardless of if Rashaad Penny is ready week 1 or not. On defense, linebacker Shaquem Griffin is proving to be more than just a feel good story as he is tied for the team league in tackles. Look for Seattle to move him around the field and see if he can help fill the role that Kam Chancellor left behind as an in the box defender.
Look for Seattle to get swept this preseason as Oakland will run Warren to a victory.
Score prediction: Raiders win 20-14
Raiders (+2.5) at Seahawks (-2.5) via 888sport.com: Take Raiders (+2.5)
The game should be fairly close, as the two teams have scored 5 and 4 touchdowns throughout the preseason respectively. Chris Warren should continue his stellar play in the running game, keeping the ball out of Seattle’s hands enough to come away with the victory.
Over/Under 35 pts. via 888sport.com – Under
Oakland has grounded and pounded their way to victories this preseason never once going over 16 points, and Seattle has only scored more than 17 points once. With Russell Wilson likely sitting out, Seattle will lean on the arms of Austin Davis and Alex McGough to put up points. All in all going with the under seems like a safe bet.
