NE Patriots at Tennessee Titans: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday November 11th, 1:00 pm Eastern Time
The Patriots are currently the number two seed in the AFC, and are coming off a dominating victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. The Titans bounced back from a three game losing streak by manhandling the Cowboys on Monday night.
The Patriots are in their usual midseason form, and gearing up for another Super Bowl run. New England flexed their muscles on the national stage a week ago, defeating the “bad man” himself, Aaron Rodgers, without Gronk, and with a wide receiver starting at running back. Josh Gordon has proven to be a true difference maker out wide for Tom Brady. Gordon has topped 100 yards receiving in two of his last three games, and has had multiple big plays of over 50 yards.
Marcus Mariota is finally getting healthy, and it’s beginning to pay dividends for the Titans. The Titans have lacked talent at the skill position for as long as we can remember, and that’s why Mariota’s legs are so important. In the last two games Mariota has rushed for 70 yards on 17 attempts and a touchdown. The threat of Mariota as a runner has kept defenses honest, and in return has made Tennessee a more efficient passing offense.
The Titans may make some noise in the AFC South before the season ends, and could come away as division champs if all falls right. With that being said, New England is simply in a different class. New England is coming off a landslide victory against the Packers, and that was without arguably two of their three most important players. That is because, as long as their most important player, Tom Brady, is on the field, the team will be dominant. Brady will attack New England castoff Malcolm Butler early and often, as Butler has surrendered the most receptions, yards, and touchdowns by a cornerback in the NFL. Josh Gordon should be in for another 100+ yard day.
Score prediction: Patriots Win 31-17
The Patriots have won their past two games by a combined average of 16.5 points. The return of Sony Michel and the emergence of Cordarrelle Patterson as a running back will keep Tennessee defenders honest while Brady attacks over the top, and between the seams, with Josh Gordon and a likely healthy Rob Gronkowski.
The Titans have actually surrendered a league low, 14 offensive touchdowns. Problem is, they have a blatant weak spot, and that weak spot is Malcolm Butler. Butler has given up seven touchdowns on the year, literally half of the touchdowns given up by the whole Titans’ defensive unit. Brady and Belichick are masters at attacking the opposition’s weak link, and Sunday will be no different.
