On November 24, at the Pepsi Center, Colorado, the Denver Nuggets will host the Memphis Grizzlies with tip-off set for 7 pm MST. Both teams play tonight (Wednesday, November 22), so it’ll be interesting to see what form the Grizzlies come into the game with. Coming into their Wednesday night matchup, Memphis was on a five-game losing streak, with their last ten record at a measly 2-8. If they can pull off a win against the Dallas Mavericks at the FedExForum, the Grizzlies may come to Denver with more of a spring in their step but, at the time of writing, they look to be a very uninspired team indeed. One reason behind this recent run of poor games is surely the loss of point guard Mike Conley. Through 12 games, Conley averaged 17.1 points and a sizeable 31.1 minutes per game, but now he’s out indefinitely with an Achilles injury. The Grizzlies will continue to miss Conley but will hope to stop their skid sooner rather than later. Denver, quite conversely, has been in fine form, boasting a 7-3 record through their last ten games heading into their game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night – which concludes a three-game road trip. The Denver Nuggets do find themselves in a similar predicament to the Grizzlies, though, in that one of their stars has sustained a long-term injury as well. With the scoring spread out rather evenly between many Nuggets stars, the injury has had less of an impact on the team, but they’ll still miss the contributions of forward Paul Millsap. Standing second in the points per game column on the Denver Nuggets at 15.3 through 16 games, Millsap is set to be out until February following wrist surgery. Even without two of each teams’ star performers, this should prove to be an exciting NBA matchup. If the Grizzlies are still without a win when this contest comes around, and the Nuggets are still on a hot streak, the hosts could run away with the game via a big scoreline and add to their mighty 7-2 home record.
