Man City vs Cardiff: Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds

Etihad Stadium, Manchester
Manchester City look for three more points to keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
The bookies will feel fairly confident of a home victory in this one as Manchester City look to regain the league title. Pep Guardiola’s team have only lost one game at home all season in the league – but that was an upset against Crystal Palace so Cardiff will take some heart from that.
Cardiff City are starting to run out of games – and the more points they fail to take, the more likely it looks that the Welsh side will make an instant return to the Championship. Goals have been a major problem all season but it is unlikely that the visitors will get many chances to add to their tally at the Etihad Stadium in this one.
Manchester City only have two more home games after this one and – even though it seems this team has the potential to win wherever they play – it is crucial that they get three points from this kind of game if they are to have any hope of winning the league again.
Sports betting sites are tipping Cardiff to be one of the three clubs to go down this year and they still have to play both Liverpool and Manchester United before the end of the season. Neil Warnock would dearly love to come away from Manchester with even just a point but realistically this could be a big win for City – 4-0 is not inconceivable
Sergio Aguero to score first
Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero is the top goal scorer in the Premier League this season and is highly likely to add to his tally against Cardiff.
Manchester City to win 5-0
Manchester City have scored a lot of goals this season, and Cardiff have conceded plenty on the road.

Head To Head
Manchester City have not lost at home to Cardiff since 1961 and beat Neil Warnock’s side 5-0 away from home earlier in the season.
- City have once again scored the most goals of any team in the Premier League this season – and are currently 53 better off than Cardiff.
- Cardiff have found the Premier League difficult this season but keeper Neil Etheridge has been able to keep eight clean sheets.
- Unsurprisingly Manchester City have recorded more touches than any other side in the league this season – and almost double the amount made by Cardiff.
- Only one other team have scored fewer goals than Cardiff this season – and Huddersfield have also conceded as many as the south Wales side.
