LA Rams at NO Saints: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday 11/4 4:25 PM (ET),
The Rams are coming off a bit of a scare in week 8, but still managed to escape undefeated. The Saints, with only one loss on the season, look to overtake LA as the number one seed in the NFC.
The Rams had their struggles in week 8, but that’s what is so impressive. In what may have been the worst game they’ve played all season, Jared Goff still managed to throw for over 300 yards, with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Todd Gurley also continued his MVP campaign, with nearly 200 yards of total offense.
While the Rams haven’t lost a single game all season, the Saint have gone undefeated since week one. After three games of leaning on two players, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara, the team has began to spread the ball around, getting a plethora of new talent involved offensively. One of those exciting talents is quarterback/running back/Mr. Everything, Taysom Hill. Last week Hill completed a 44-yard pass, rushed the ball three times, and also caught a pass. Hill is an intriguing talent, but Sean Payton’s love affair with Hill is beginning to go from a nice added wrinkle in the offense, to a child obsessively playing with their new toy, to no end. Drew Brees simply should not be pulled out from under center the amount of times he has in the past few weeks.
The Saints come in on an impressive hot streak, while the Rams showed the first knick in their armour. Everything in me wants to take the Saints, due to the home field advantage and simple hunch. Yet, statistically, everything points to the Rams continuing their undefeated season. The Saints’ 28th ranked defense against the pass may be too much to overcome against the 4th ranked passing unit of the LA Rams.
Score prediction: Rams win 31-30
In such a tightly competitive matchup based off of roster talent and team efficiency, take the team getting points. The game will go down to the wire, without a doubt. The Rams are simply the more rounded roster, ranking top seven in ypg, and ppg, both offensively and defensively.
These two teams makes you immediately think over. However, the Rams are coming off their worst game of the season, scoring under 30 points for only the second time this year. The Saints’ struggles to get their bonafide stars regularly involved is quite alarming. Michael Thomas had 38 receptions over the first three weeks of the season, but only 20 receptions over the past four games. All while running back Alvin Kamara has not gone over 100 total yards since week four.
