Juventus welcome Ajax to Allianz Stadium for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final with the tie in the balance after the first game ended 1-1.
Juventus will warm up for this game with a trip to SPAL in Ferrara on Saturday knowing that a win or even a draw will see them lift their eighth Scudetto in a row. Coach Max Allegri will have to improve the performance of his squad as they were well and truly outplayed in the Johan Cruijff Arena in the first leg.
Ajax currently sit on top of the Eredivisie level on 71 points with PSV but with a superior goal difference as they have scored 100 goals in the league this season. They take on second from bottom Excelsior at home on Saturday in the Dutch League and will turn their focus to this Champions League game straight after.
Juventus topped their Champions League group ahead of Manchester United, Valencia and Young Boys – they then knocked out Atletico Madrid in the last 16, winning 3-0 at home after losing 2-0 in the Wanda Metropolitano. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored all four of Juve’s goals in the knock out rounds.
Ajax came second in their Champions League group behind Bayern Munich but ahead of Benfica and AEK Athens – they put holders Real Madrid to the sword in their last 16 two-legged tie 5-3 on aggregate. A 2-1 win for Ajax would be a popular result.
An Ajax win is available
Ajax outplayed Juventus in the first leg and will look to do to the Italian giants as they did to Real Madrid in the Bernabeu.
Total goals over 2.5
Ajax only play with one thing in their mind, and that is to attack while Juventus will have to play better than they did in Amsterdam and that could be why the bookmakers are offering odds for the over 2.5 goals scored market.

Head to Head
These sides have met 13 times in European competition with Ajax winning two of them while Juventus have won six and there have been five draws.
- Juventus have lost just once at home this term and that was a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League group stage – they have dropped points at home twice in Serie A this year when they drew to Genoa and Parma.
- Ajax are unbeaten away from home in their seven Champions League games so far this year, winning three and drawing four of them – they have lost just four times on their travels in total in all competitions this season.
- Juventus will be hoping to beat Ajax on their way to reaching another Champions League final – the Old Lady have lost their last three finals since beating the Dutch giants on penalties in 1996.
- Ajax beat Juventus 1-0 in the final of the European Cup in 1973 but lost to the Bianconeri on penalties in the final in 1996 – and will no doubt be looking to get revenge for that defeat in their last appearance in a Champions League Final.
