Jets vs Patriots: Predictions, Odds and Betting Tips
Sunday, November 25th, 1:00 pm ET
The Jets have now lost four games in a row, and will once again be without Sam Darnold in the lineup. They faceoff with a Patriots team looking to get back to their winning ways after a shocking defeat at the hands of the Titans a week ago.
Early on, it looked as if the Jets would keep things interesting throughout the season, and possibly vie for a playoff spot. The last month has destroyed any hope of that, as they’ve lost their last four consecutive games. They’ve decided to sit Sam Darnold for a second consecutive game, and rightfully so, as he tries to work his way back from a foot injury. In his place will be 39-year-old Josh McCown. McCown, who played extremely well a year ago as the team’s regular starter at QB, will look to recapture that magic, as his last game did not go so well. Versus the Buffalo Bills in week ten, McCown threw for only 135 yards, and tossed two interceptions in a crushing 41-10 loss.
Speaking of crushing losses, no one saw the 34-10 shellacking of the Patriots coming, but that’s exactly what happened. The Titans completely manhandled the Pats in their week ten contest. New England had a bye week to get things ironed out, and will look to do their own manhandling against a Jets team on a downward spiral.
Sony Michel returned from injury in week ten after missing two games with a knee, and didn’t find the same success in the ground game as he had previously. The extra rest due to the bye week, and a matchup with the 22nd ranked rushed defense, will likely lead to us seeing the Sony Michel that averaged 105.3 yards in a three game span prior to his injury. Michel isn’t the only player that benefited from the bye week. Rob Gronkowski will be returning to the lineup, as he stated, “I feel good, and I’m ready to go!” That is bad news for a Jets defense that gave up 232 yards and 2 touchdowns to Matt Barkley the last time we saw them. Tom Brady must be licking his chops.
Score prediction: Patriots win 31-20
Ten points may be a lot, but the Jets just lost by 31, and will once again be without Sam Darnold under center. The Jets have actually lost their last four games by an average of 18 points, and lost three out of the four games by 14+ points.
The Patriots rank 7th in the NFL in scoring with 28 ppg. The Jets have surrendered 34+ points in three out of their last five contests, including 41 points the last time they took the field.
